How weird that this fragrance isn’t on Fragrantica! I had a miniature gifted to me 24 years ago; it was a very particular scent, but not in a good way, since it was extremely herbal, with few nuances and almost no evolution. As for performance, honestly, I don’t remember its projection, sillage, or longevity. The thing is, I never liked it, and I think my brother finished it. In my view, Sergio Soldano Black seemed like a nonsensical perfume. I give it a 3/10.
It smells fresh, floral, and green with citrus in between and noticeable aldehydes. It’s a distinct aroma, like the White version: original, whether you like it or not. It has a dark yet well-controlled sensation that adds floral and woody nuances. I notice a light but constant evolution; it’s dense and manages that forest feeling very well. In my opinion, it’s complex, unusual, and interesting—a small lost treasure, even if it doesn’t last long.
Sergio Soldano Black is an interesting uncle, especially at first: a citrus madness with pine and herbs that smells like the 80s but with a fresh, Mediterranean air. It’s delightful to watch those refreshing notes unfold into a lovely soapy, floral tone, evoking pure nature with undeniable quality. The curious part is that it ends with incense; combined with the opening citrus, it sounds like Loewe 7 but decades earlier. In the mid-80s, fern-based perfumes got fresh thanks to Drakkar Noir, and this is another case. The only flaw is that it doesn’t last long, as Jerry Drake told me about when he passed the sample to me.
