  There’s a chasm between perfumes of this style back then and today. Sergio Soldano’s creations are mid-tier compared to the legendary Gianni Versace Giorgio Armani and Fendi of old yet they surpass many current offerings (if you try a vintage Soldano White you’ll understand what I mean). The aromatic density in a small 25ml vintage bottle is impressive—dark amber color with an almost oily texture. Yes almost an elixir. Two sprays on the wrists and after a few seconds fireworks unfold: scents of fruits and flowers soaked in honey and vanilla. To complete the olfactory journey the rose arrives: heavy sensual without shouting yet unmistakable. It’s a perfume I want to smell on a woman hugging me when I get home after a stressful day to let myself be captured by that warm serenity sweet as ripe fruit but with a woody dense enveloping touch. A remarkable work from another time.
