I tried it at a perfumery for the price and dulce de leche notes, but it was a letdown. It smells sweet, I didn’t perceive any other notes, and I couldn’t smell the dulce de leche at all. It was gone on my skin after 20 minutes. I think a fruity body spray lasts longer. I didn’t buy it despite the deal.
I bought it blindly online and received it today. It smells very faint, totally opposite to the original Rumba: this flanker is sweet, slightly lactonic, and vanilla, innocent and pleasant, suitable for those who can’t handle dense scents. The red bottle is gorgeous. Edit: It’s perfect for cold weather; the colder it gets, the sweeter it becomes, highlighting that well-executed dulce de leche note. CONS: Longevity on skin doesn’t even come close to the original (which lasts over 12h as an EDT). Not even Rumba Passion lasts longer; this version is poor, around 4-5 hours. At its price ($15.50), it’s acceptable, but clarify that in warm climates it won’t last an hour. It’s for winter exclusively or cool spring days; on mild days, it lasts like a cheap body mist.
It’s nice, but that’s all. Sweet with a ‘natural’ dulce de leche note that becomes weird when mixed with the flowers. That combination smells strange to my nose, somewhat plastic, unremarkable, and low quality. No power, lasts very little, and projects almost nothing. I see it as suitable for everyday wear, school, or work, but nothing for going out or romantic dates.
To me, it doesn’t resemble Poison Girl or Private Show. It opens fruity, but the dry down is dominated by florals. I don’t see it as particularly youthful; it reminds me of Minuit Creation, though Creation is better—it’s a lovely copy of J’adore. I was surprised because I expected more gourmand and cloying; the dulce de leche is barely noticeable, just sweetening the flowers. It doesn’t last as claimed (body mist) or like an EDP, nor like an EDT: max 4-5 hours with moderate to soft sillage.
Exquisite sweet fruity opening that lasts only 10 seconds. Then, on my skin, it turns into soap/talc with flowers, barely sweet, and that’s where it stays. No gourmand vibes, no dulce de leche, nothing lactonic.
Reminds me of Poison Girl, but it doesn’t last at all on the skin. I liked the fragrance, but its poor longevity disappointed me.
It was a bust. I was looking for something gourmand and sweet, but I didn’t detect any fruitiness. I agree with CamiB: the mix of dulce de leche, vanilla, and orange blossom with other flowers just doesn’t work. It’s nothing like the elegance of the original Rumba; to me, this is a completely different perfume, not a flanker.
