It’s strange that no one has commented on this 2015 niche yet: an ambered, incense-drenched rose. It’s brilliant, dark, and powerful. Top-tier quality and performance. Hendley Perfumes is a tiny, almost artisanal American house where Hans Hendley himself crafts and sells his creations; a very well-run and honest company. This Rosenthal is intoxicating, totally unisex, even though Western tradition associates roses with femininity. Similarities: naturally with classic strong rose scents, but here smoked. Some link it to dark rose niches like Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle (another bomb) or Le Mat by Diptyque. It’s not outrageously priced, unfortunately, as mediocre niches with hype and overvaluation flood our digital space. Don’t buy blind, thanks. They sell decants on their website at a reasonable price to try it out. Smell it without fear; it’s addictive. If you’re one of those guys who thinks Moschino Toy Boy is an overly masculine masterpiece, go ahead and try this.
