  • A truly rich, warm, and sexy perfume… I love its very Cavalli design with the snake on the cap.

  • Have you ever had a perfume that doesn’t just turn you off but actually makes you nauseous and dry your mouth out? This was one of those. It was the first Cavalli, famous in the early 2000s for its bling-bling vulgarity. The Florentine brand exploded in the late 90s with silk dresses and animal prints. They launched this fragrance riding that wave, and honestly, just thinking about it makes me sick. Yesterday I dug one out of a drawer and confirmed it still looks hideous to me, even if the scent isn’t bad. It reminds me a lot of Marc Jacobs’ Decadence; with both, the amber isn’t that soft, sweet modern stuff, but rather halogen, spicy, and bloody, like the seventies version. It smells to me like rotting lightbulbs, mollusks, shells, and corrupted reptiles. I imagine something slimy crawling on the floor, with neon lights instead of blood, like an Alien giving birth to pus and iodine. Both share that balsamic amber smelling of corrupted mercromin, mixed with fruits, flowers, and wood. This one passed without a trace and is now discontinued. I’ve never liked elongated bottles—they’re uncomfortable and easy to knock over—but this had a pretty design: a python cylinder with a snake cap. I loved the campaign too, a model in the dunes with a python. I’m sure it wasn’t bad: it was very sexual, androgynous, musky, and semi-oriental, a heavy, sensual mist for adults. Like with Decadence, I can’t enjoy it due to my aversion to that hellish amber, but at least it was interesting.

  • It was a direct gift from Italy when it first launched. I went absolutely crazy for it and never found it again. More than 20 years have passed—I was 20 at the time—and I only remember everyone praising me for being unique here in Chile. I wish I could wrap myself in that scent again. 🥰
