  • Gem! If you already know the house and loved Cacique and De Licious, this will blow your mind. Mr. Renier has created something that left me speechless. I had high expectations and he didn’t disappoint: that combination of cherry and oud was achieved masterfully. Applause, Mr. Renier!

  • I’m sorry, I can’t handle it. The synthetic cherry chords overwhelm everything. It has a plasticky tone, like PVC glue or varnish, which I just can’t stand. It’s exacerbated by the rose and animal notes, making it a difficult scent, only for those who know how to appreciate this kind of thing. It reminds me of an Amouage Opus X.

  • Renier offers a proposal with the magic of Cambodian oud and tender, acidic cherry. It has sensual animal touches from castoreum, feels like it’s from another era, and combines lime, rose, sandalwood, jasmine, and orange blossom. In the base, bursts of amber, musk, and vanilla. It’s the scent of a princess on the run, soaring like a butterfly seeking its freedom. I love it, and you’ll be fascinated if you enjoy retro aromas from the 80s and 90s, with great presence, eroticism, and seduction.

  • Memoquique

It’s literally cherry (the trendy note of ’23) but with the distinct stamp of Cambodian oud. In the drydown, a dirty musk stands out, blending with cherry and oud to become the three main protagonists.

  • At first, the vintage vibe from the castoreum and Cambodian oud didn’t quite convince me, though I really enjoyed the oud. My inexperienced nose didn’t detect the cherry as it does today; it steers clear of gourmand scents and feels very 90s. I set out to understand Renier’s passion for the animalic and oud; at first, I thought of Guerlain’s Samsara Animal Ylang-Ylang, but Ris Tanama takes a freer, more artistic path. The lemon adds lightness, while the dry, powdery rose completes the rosewood woodiness. Although the opening isn’t for me, the drydown has won me over: the rosewood shines through as the animal tones soften. It’s a rounded, high-flying composition, rare these days. I believe with time, this ‘red butterfly’ will grow a lot in my profile.

  • From my skin, Ris Tanama is an absolute revelation. I’ve tried almost everything from the house and they all fascinate me, but this one caught me completely off guard. Forget the medicinal sweetness of cherry; here it’s tender and acidic, like those you’d pick straight from the backyard tree without washing them, cleaned only by the rain—never sugary but utterly irresistible. Imagine the lemon giving it that mouth-watering kick. Quickly, effeminate, wild, and dirty tones emerge, incredibly beautiful, mixed with a white floral and musky base that creates precious contrasts. Over time, it becomes more animalic, but it’s not unpleasant; it’s addictive. It has an exotic, sensual vibe that’s almost too much to bear. Imagine a scented silk handkerchief tucked between sweaty breasts, snatched by the wind and tangling around a dead but damp tree trunk. It’s unique.
