Descripción

Habana 500 by Renier Perfumes is a woody aquatic fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, the nose behind this creation is Daniel Josier. The top notes evoke an immediate freshness with marine accords, apple, and mint; the heart reveals a warm, earthy complexity thanks to coffee, milk, leather, amber, and cedar; while the base notes leave a silky, persistent trail of sandalwood, ambergris, and musk.

  • Tried a decant today. Upon opening it, I thought: ‘Wow!’ Without reading the notes, it smelled like a creamy, minty mojito with a rum-like alcohol kick over a sweet, creamy base. However, once applied to the skin, the mojito vanished and gave way to a cappuccino. It smells good, but it’s a generic woody milk coffee scent I’ve smelled before—a letdown. Performance and longevity are great, and the trail is noticeable. The originality is the blue liquid color… though yes, it stains! Skin and clothes. Scent: 7, Longevity: 8, Sillage: 6, Value: 4, Uniqueness: 5, Versatility: 6, Overall: 7.5.

At first, you notice the coffee, but it’s not dominant or pure; it’s more noticeable on the wrist than in the scent trail from the neck. There’s a strange base note that doesn’t quite fit, possibly the mint or the marine element. Over time, it turns sweet; the coffee blends with milk and smells like a cappuccino with a sweet gummy bear-like background. The mental image is drinking a cappuccino and eating gummy bears with sugar. Maybe the caramelized apple (which it does have) gives that sensation, nothing like the tart apple in other perfumes. I see it as unisex, ideal for cold climates, spring, or cool summer nights. Performance is good for the whole day at the office, though it’s not a beast in projection. I like the dry-down more than the opening; I’d give it a pass, but I don’t think it’s worth 250€ for 50ml. Everyone judges as they please.

At first, you notice the coffee, but it’s not dominant or pure; it’s more apparent on the wrist than in the neck sprays. There’s an odd base note that doesn’t quite fit, possibly the mint or the marine accords. Over time, it becomes sweet as the coffee blends with the milk, smelling like a cappuccino with a sweet taffy-like base. The mental image is drinking a cappuccino while eating sugar-coated gummy bears. Maybe the caramelized apple (which it does have) gives that sensation, nothing like the sharp apple in other perfumes. I see it as unisex, ideal for cold weather, spring, or cool summer nights. Performance is good for an all-day office wear, though it’s not a beast in projection. I prefer the dry-down over the opening; I’d give it a pass, but I don’t think it’s worth 250€ for 50ml. Everyone judge for themselves.

A huge disappointment for me. Low quality, poor longevity, and lack of creativity. I was fooled by the marketing: the bottle is gorgeous, but in the end, what matters is what we smell, not what we see.

  • Good perfume. At first, there are pleasant flashes that remind me of something I can’t quite identify, maybe an unmentioned fruity touch. Then it stabilizes and lasts for hours. It’s a soft coffee with a darker, more distinctive background. Although it has quality and presence, the declared notes aren’t striking; it’s hard to perceive the mint or the marine aspects, even though they’re part of the blend. The price is a real shock: 5€/ml is insane. I’d pay up to 70€ for the 50ml bottle just for the beautiful presentation. Brands know the business is selling the luxury dream to the wealthy.

It’s a great perfume. Despite its outrageous price that might make you hesitate, it smells like a mojito and milk coffee at a table by the sea. The only thing I don’t understand, respectfully to the creators, is that it stains blue.
