It’s crazy how that warm, spicy sensation hits me; it’s exactly the scent that comes to mind when I think of ‘rough’ perfumes. It’s leather with fruity touches, with cedar and patchouli very present. Cardamomo works like grains of salt on chocolate, balancing everything and preventing it from being suffocating, even though it doesn’t stop being an authentic beast mode. Ajmal is always doing spectacular things; honestly, I haven’t tried a brand better than this in terms of quality and price.
Ajmal remains an Arab gem that, among clones, surprises us with masterpieces like this ‘Rhythm of Oud’. For around $40, the quality is brutally superior to what you pay. It starts fresh, spicy, and aromatic, with a bitter-sweet note almost like orange. Saffron and cardamomo dominate the opening with that rough aftertaste, while nutmeg adds its touch. As it dries, patchouli takes center stage: dark, wet, and with bitter cocoa nuances, drowned in dark woods in a mix between creamy and rugged that I love. The background osmanthus gives a raw, greasy texture to the unaged leather, smoky and totally nocturnal. It reminds me of the dark paths in Amouage’s ‘Interlude’, but rougher, more rugged, and unadorned, with that leather much more present. Performance is incredible, so use only a few drops. It’s unisex and perfect for autumn, winter, or those cold nights.

Cardamomo acts like grains of salt on chocolate, balancing everything and preventing it from being suffocating, even though it’s still a full-on beast mode. Ajmal, as always, doing spectacular things; honestly, I haven’t tried a better brand in terms of quality and price.
Ajmal remains a top-tier Arab house that, among clones, surprises us with its own gems like this ‘Rhythm of Oud’. For around $40, the value is brutal: you get way more than you pay for. It starts fresh, spicy, and aromatic, with a bitter-sweet note almost like orange. Saffron and cardamomo dominate the opening with that fresh kick, while nutmeg adds character. As it dries, patchouli shines: dark, wet, sharp, with bitter cocoa nuances, drowned in dark woods in a mix that oscillates between creamy and rugged—I love that rustic representation. Osmanthus, though secondary, adds a raw, greasy texture to the base leather, an unaged, smoky, and totally nocturnal leather. It might remind you of the dark paths in Amouage’s ‘Interlude’, but rougher, more rugged, and unadorned, with much more prominent leather. Performance is beastly, so use only a few drops. It’s unisex and perfect for autumn, winter, or those cold nights.
True, it’s not niche Ajmal, but for the price, it delivers a high-end or even niche experience. No oud, yes cedar, patchouli, and a deceptive vibe: an undeclared soft fruity touch, with leather taking the lead as it dries down—moderate and precise. Nothing Arab, all Western. It doesn’t scream; it’s present and smells well-constructed, balanced. Here we see why Ajmal beats Lattafa or popular brands (the PURELY ORIENT line is notable). It’s unisex, warm, friendly, versatile for moderate days and mild evenings. Good performance, moderate projection. Forget comparing it to Gucci Guilty Absolute or Philip Plein No Limits; this Rhythm doesn’t hang out with those rough leather types; it’s something else: for enjoying quietly, not to surprise, without an in-your-face shock. It makes you want to keep exploring the house’s creations. Try it (on skin if you can, it gives different nuances than on paper). *75ml EDP bottle version.
Indeed, it’s not pure niche from Ajmal, but for the price, it offers something that usually costs more in mid-range or niche. Forget the oud; here we have cedar, patchouli, and a deceptive vibe: an undeclared soft fruity touch, with leather taking the lead as it dries down—moderate and precise. Nothing Arab; it’s Western. It doesn’t shout; it’s discreet yet present and well-constructed. This explains why Ajmal still beats out houses like Lattafa (the PURELY ORIENT line is notable). It’s unisex, warm, friendly, and versatile for mild days or evenings. Performance is good, projection is moderate. Don’t compare it to Gucci Guilty Absolute or Philip Plein No Limits; Rhythm isn’t one of those rough leather types; it’s for enjoying quietly, without an in-your-face shock.
