Moresque delivers a spiced vanilla, pure essence yet incredibly complex with a polarizing development. It’s dense, heavy, and of utmost quality—a hidden gem. At first, it’s an overwhelming explosion of vanilla, spices, florals, and fruits that leave you breathless. Then, the vanilla and ylang-ylang duo takes over, settling into a creamy, dense base while the spices mellow out the fruits, evolving into a chai with milk and vanilla loaded with powdered cinnamon, cumin, and cardamom over that creaminess, creating a rich and curious contrast. Over time, the cinnamon calms down and reminds me of Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, but with cardamomo instead of clove. When the spices fade, a clear neroli awakens as it separates from the vanilla, becoming more floral than spicy. The performance is brutal, lasting over 12 hours with strong projection, and its sillage fills any room. Undoubtedly, it’s a complex, challenging perfume that’s a must-try from the house.
