Raw Gold Extrait is pure poetry. An hyper-intense opening of honey, davana, and sharp notes. Sweet and animalistic to the max. Gradually, the heart of patchouli and leather emerges without losing that honeyed potency. As it softens, the woods come forward. It also has dirty, dark touches of tobacco and coffee. At first, it reminded me of L’Envol by Cartier with that iris and honey blend, but here there’s much more punch, better longevity, and a more dynamic evolution. It’s definitely becoming one of my favorites and a notable upgrade over its EDP predecessor. It’s a night bomb, perfect for winter.
Ugh, I’d choose L’Envol by Cartier a million times over. Raw Gold actually gives me a headache. It’s totally overwhelming.
