I had a brutal craving for this one. The moment I sprayed it, I thought, ‘What the heck is this?’ It’s a bomb of dark spices that leaves your head spinning. After an hour or two, the spice softens just a little (but very little), and the milky notes start to emerge, though the shift is extremely subtle. Overall, it smells like homemade pomade—very resinous, with cardamom, cumin, and another ingredient. Contrary to my expectations, it’s not sweet at all. I think of the last three, this is the most niche and least commercial. But I appreciate that a house known for such pleasant compositions dared to tackle a challenging proposal.
