Qelibar by Darkbeat Parfums

Another interesting proposal from Darkbeat that I have the honor of knowing. Unfortunately, like the rest of their creations, it stays within the creator’s circle of friends. I appreciate the exclusivity, but it’s a shame it doesn’t reach a wider audience and get the recognition it deserves. Qelibar is what I’ve liked most so far. Atypical and original architecture: a soft but substantial citrus-resinous opening that gives way to the main thread, a pleasant and wearable incense paired with orange blossom. I usually struggle with orange blossom, but here it’s so well balanced with the incense that it captivated me. The incense takes center stage with vanilla and amber tones of dry sweetness, feeling smoky at times. Good longevity, around 8 hours, moderate projection. I own several incense perfumes and feel lucky to add this masterpiece to my collection.

Qelibar is my favorite so far. It has an unconventional architecture: a citrus-resinous opening that leads to a core featuring a pleasant incense thread with bergamot. While I usually dislike bergamot, here it’s perfectly balanced with the incense and has captivated me. The incense takes center stage with vanilla and amber nuances, offering a dry sweetness that sometimes turns smoky. It lasts about 8 hours with moderate projection. I’ve added it to my collection; it’s a gem.

Nice scent from Darkbeat. I like the proposal and, allowing for differences, it reminds me of Bloody Smoke by L. Pazzaglia. It opens citrusy but already loaded with resins and balsamic notes, making its intentions clear. No refreshing citrus. Gradually, the smoky aspect emerges, and that’s where I detect the connection with B. Smoke, with a floating metallic note. Afterward, without losing the balsamic tone, it starts to turn sweet but softly. It performs and projects well. I don’t see it for hot weather, totally versatile.

Another new release from Darkbeat that I’m glad to try. It opens with citrus, resin, and balsam notes. The citrus fades quickly, leaving the incense. I don’t detect the floral bergamot, but I do notice the salty dry-down, similar to Profumum Roma’s Acqua di Sale. The incense and amber blend in without being sweet, perhaps due to the ambergris. It smells great, lasts about 6 hours, is unisex but leans masculine, and is ideal for cold weather or evening wear.

Very well-made incense that impressed me in every phase. It opens with incense and elemi, resinous and citrusy but light. Then the citrus yields to a woody, elegant incense, supported by vanilla and amber. A round, beautiful development. It reminds me of Málaga Santa by L. Legrand, but more elegant and without that burnt incense dessert vibe I don’t like. A round of applause for the nose!

What a beautiful incense! That’s the first thing I notice. Another masterpiece from our colleague that deserves to be among the best. I really enjoyed it. The incense evolves to become sweeter with each passing moment, and I notice the citrus notes more after a while than at the beginning. This perfume promises to be one of the ‘addictive’ ones. Congratulations!

I tried Qelibar by Darkbeat and what a better start! It’s a gem: amber, incense, and vanilla that sound spectacular. Sweet without being cloying, intense yet elegant. Easy to wear, perfect for evening and unisex. Recommended for amber lovers. Scent: 10, Longevity: 9, Sillage: 7, Versatility: 8, Originality: 9, Overall: 9.5
