There’s no way to resist the greatness of this perfume. It’s one of Caron’s most beautiful jewels, with that nostalgic and romantic touch that fits perfectly with its florals. Sweet, intense, romantic, and with a powdery nuance that gives it character. In short: it’s a worked rose, similar to N’Aimez Que Moi or Or et Noir (though with more punch here), but the focus shifts. While the rose is key, Pois du senteur centers on an almond vanilla with small notes of hyacinth and magnolia. It’s one of their most layered fragrances and a true beauty. What’s curious is that the entire Caron family shares an DNA, even across different lines; sometimes you can feel the presence of other creations in a single scent. Regarding the Lathyrus odoratus flower, which gives the perfume its name: I was lucky to have one, and it will bloom soon. The real flower smells more soapy, so it’s not an exact clone, but in terms of sweetness, the fragrance captures it perfectly. Another epic floral from the house. This review is about the extrait.
