Alexandria No Apologies reminds me a lot of Nasomatto’s Pardon, but not at first; here, Pardon is more beautiful, almost sublime. No Apologies is more chaotic, compact, a bit gray and insipid, so when you put it on you think, ‘damn, it smells like solvent.’ After five minutes, the scent opens up: beautiful white flowers with chocolate and a westernized oud base that’s elegant and cheerful, nothing like the stinky ‘wannabe’ ouds out there. It only resembles Pardon in the dry-down phase and a little in the heart. Still, it gives you a good idea of how that famous Italian perfume that’s causing a sensation smells. Obviously, the price difference is astronomical, so with No Apologies you get something that smells good, lasts 6-7 hours, and has high projection for the first two hours. As a final note, I want to say that when I first smelled Pardon, I was about to cry; no perfume had ever moved me so much, it was such a beautiful experience that my eyes filled with tears. No Apologies, without ceasing to be good for its price, will never equal the three-dimensional beauty of Pardon, its layered scent that for a while smells like dark chocolate, then flowers and oud, and other times like combinations of both, always changing, getting more exquisite each time, an insane delight. I enthusiastically tell you: you have to try Pardon, whether it’s a split or decant online, a drop borrowed from a neighbor, in-store if you’re lucky enough to live in a country where you can buy it, and if you like it, if it fills you with happiness like it did me, save up, work extra hours, drive Uber in your free time, find a Sugar Daddy (or Mommy), whatever it takes to get a full bottle. How much is happiness worth to you?

What a beautiful scent, with a cinnamon and sandalwood opening that feels like a masculine fragrance with some Red Tobacco vibes, but without the cloying sweetness… As it dries down, the magic of dark chocolate and flowers with lingering cinnamon emerges… The tonka bean gives it a creamy, not-too-sweet touch. It worked wonders on my skin, with about 7 hours of projection and another 4 hours close to the skin. I consider it a unisex fragrance that I could smell on my wrist all day.

  • I bought No Apologies to have it in the collection alongside the original, but what a pleasant surprise: it smells very close and great. A more than recommended option to smell classy without suffering when you spray it; Pardon is the most expensive wooden cap on the market (haha).

  • I bought No Apology to have it in my collection alongside the original, but what a pleasant surprise: it smells super close and amazing. It’s the highly recommended option for smelling classy without the sting of overspraying; Pardon is basically the most expensive wood stopper on the market (haha).

  • No Apologies is my gourmand take on Pardon: the chocolate and cinnamon give it a powdery cocoa touch, sweetening it and making it more wearable. I think it’s a great alternative to Nasomatto’s, since its patchouli is less aggressive and the price per milliliter is much more reasonable. It’s linear but has good longevity, totally unisex, and perfect for cold weather. I consider it one of Alexandria’s best inspirations. Rating: 8.5/10

  • For me, No Apologies is like a ‘gourmand’ version of Pardon, since the declared chocolate and cinnamon give it a dusty cocoa-like aspect, sweeten it a bit, and make it easier to wear. I feel it’s a good alternative to Nasomatto’s, considering that this one’s patchouli might be less friendly and that the price-per-milliliter ratio doesn’t convince everyone. It’s more linear, but with good longevity, totally unisex, and better for cold climates, I think this is one of Alexandria’s best inspirations. Note: 8.5/10
