About Maple Cedar

Maple Cedar by Joterc is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, it was created by perfumer Daniel Josier. The olfactory pyramid unfolds with cedar, cardamom, bergamot, and rose in the top notes; almond, Atlas cedar, coffee, heliotrope, and oud wood in the heart; and balsam of Peru, vanilla, amber, musk, and patchouli in the base. This composition pays homage to Virginia, where the scent of the majestic cedar conifer is carried by the southern wind. In the fragrance industry, Virginia cedar and cedar are the two most used cedar essences, present in nearly half of the market references.

  1. I like it quite a bit. In short, it smells like baby powder: no florals, nothing feminine, just pure baby powder. Although it seems like a winter scent, the notes aren’t overwhelming; it leaves a mix of freshness and distinction, though I notice more of that freshness.

  2. Smells great, sweet and warm, gives me a Christmas vibe. Longevity and projection are low, but if you catch it on sale, you can reapply without issues. Not recommended as a permanent buy.

  3. I agree with @Fede. It’s warm, spiced, woody, and vanilla, a rich aroma perfect for autumn-winter or these holidays. At first it seems masculine, but then it’s 100% unisex. It’s very good and lasts, but since I already have similar options, it didn’t totally win me over. It’s a safe and pleasant bet for these dates.

  4. Smells like wood and amber with a warm, sweet touch. The downside is it smells very much like Zara; it seems like something I’ve smelled before there, although the ingredients here are a bit higher quality. I don’t detect oud, just a subtle coffee note. It lasts almost 7 hours with medium projection at the start. Perfect for winter, but it’s a commercial niche scent and you probably won’t fall in love with it because it’s so common.
