Issey has never been my thing in men’s fragrances: too plastic, not powerful enough, and overpriced. This is no exception.
It’s not ‘bad,’ in fact I liked the scent. The problem is the longevity: it doesn’t even reach Eau de Toilette levels, despite what the box says. A pity, because the rest is pleasant.
I’ve had it for months and it’s disappointing: poor projection and it fades in three hours. The opening is nice, but then it becomes a mix of peach and wood. Ideal for the office in enclosed spaces, nothing for young or older people. It doesn’t justify being ‘Intense,’ seems like a stop-and-shop gift.

In my opinion, it should be called Satiric Issey pour Homme. The ‘Intense’ is only in the box text; in reality, the trail is very discreet. They dumped gallons of fruit juice onto the woods, because to my nose, the citrus comes through much more than the wood. Issey Miyake has great creations like the Nuit D’Issey line, but with this Wood, I feel they’ve really slipped.

I just bought several Issey Miyake decants to try. This Wood & Wood bottle looks nice. I sprayed it twice on my hand, and after an hour, the dry-down instantly reminded me of K Dolce&Gabbana EDT. If you already have D&G, it’s not worth spending $70 on this.
