Nice bottle, eye-catching at first glance. I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of Issey Miyake. Smelled it on a strip and liked it; it’s not groundbreaking but has something that hooks me. Bought it for summer, and after a few days, it reminded me of a perfume I couldn’t identify until I found it on Fragrantica: Jesús del Pozo’s Quasar. Despite Quasar having banana notes, both end up smelling quite similar. It’s soft, sits close to the skin, and doesn’t try to grab attention. It’s discreet with low projection. On my skin, it doesn’t last long; my pH probably doesn’t play nice with it. My mistake was not testing it on skin before buying. I recommend you test it on your skin first; I know someone who gets hours of wear from it. I confess I wouldn’t buy it again; for this price, there are better summer options. Scent: 6/10, Longevity: 5/10, Sillage: 5/10
Very rich, very similar to previous Summer scents with that citrus, spicy, and herbal touch from the fresh vetiver (I’m comparing it to the 2010 version). Cheerful, summery, and fresh, with a distant nod to the original L’Eau d’Issey. In this 2018 version, there’s a very soft and somewhat undefined fruit in the heart that ends up being super well-balanced. The subtle cypress also adds a nice cleanliness. Longevity is acceptable for its type, lasting about 4-5 hours with good initial projection and a nice personal bubble afterwards. If you like these Issey Summer scents and can get them at a good price (they’re discontinued now), it’s a great option for heat or sports. On Fragrantica in English, some say it smells like “wet dog,” but I don’t notice that at all; it’s hard to imagine anyone disliking it. Salu2
