Le Tanneur by Marchand D' Arômes

Okay, I’ve been trying out this low-cost beast “Le Tanneur” by Marchand D’Aromes. It’s INCREDIBLE how long it lasts and how it projects. As of today, I think it’s the best Argentine low-cost fragrance (the price is almost always around 36k on its official page, but I bought it from a discounted listing on ML for 22k with codes). From what I could see, this bottle I have would be the third reissue of the packaging. First it was all matte black, then transparent with white letters, and now it looks like this. Let’s talk about what I could pick up from the perfume (I only applied 3 sprays on Saturday night):
– OPENING: powerful, a leather that I perceive as “shoemaker’s leather,” accompanied by that cardamom and saffron, giving an enveloping scent with presence (a scent that, if you notice it doesn’t have much presence, gives you a push and a personality that, ugh, makes you get noticed, no doubt). Then a white floral comes along with hints of jasmine, but I don’t know why it feels to me like those tiny white flowers you can find in the square, only brighter and with fresh touches. Right away it gives you an exquisite, very masculine style.
– DRYDOWN: a punch of that white floral becomes more dominant, throwing out bursts constantly. It’s not a perfume that’s going to leave you stranded; it keeps its captivating touch through all its stages. Now then… (this is why I say it’s, for me, the best low-cost in Argentina today) ~
– LONGEVITY: it easily projects for almost 3 hours VERY strongly. It really makes itself felt, and with only 3 sprays at that (one on each side of the neck and one on the back of the neck).
* On skin, it easily lasts a good 6 hours. That’s a total of 9 hours if we count the heavy-projection stretch (after that I don’t know, because I went to take a shower, but I saw somewhere that it lasts 14 hours close to the skin).
* On clothes (anecdote): I wore it on Saturday, took my t-shirt off that day, and left it on a chair. Today (Tuesday), while tidying my room to put the clothes in the wash, I grabbed the t-shirt and it was STILL giving off wafts of that white floral from half a meter away. Literally lasts a lifetime.
– OCCASIONS: formal, without a doubt. I wouldn’t wear it with casual clothes because it’s elegant, eye-catching, and totally masculine. Recommended outfit: suit/shirt/polo shirt.
– COMPLIMENTS: totally, bro; right away people complimented me asking if it was an imported perfume (if only they knew). I find it a scent with a lot of presence; the only person it might not please is someone who doesn’t like jasmine.
– FYI: I think it’s trying to be a clone of Ombré Leather by TF, but it mixes it in another direction.
– DO YOU RECOMMEND BUYING IT? Without a doubt! It’s REALLY good, and to me it should be worth more than it costs (for its scent, longevity, and projection, 33k seems like very little). IN SUMMARY: It’s a bomb of a perfume for what you pay, since we’re talking about a 120 ml EDP (I think the deal on ML is still at 33k; on the official page, like I told you, it’s more expensive 🫡). It’s sure to get compliments if it’s paired with formal clothing, since that’s the only occasion I can think of for it. I repeat what I said above: this perfume should be worth MUCH more. So if you don’t have a fragrance that goes in this line/DNA (or if you have one but want a quality fragrance at a low price), go for it—you’ve got a super high-performing fragrance guaranteed.
