Descripción
Lapidus Pour Homme Gold Extreme by Ted Lapidus is a spicy oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2015, this composition features an olfactory pyramid crafted by a master perfumer. The top notes unfold with pink pepper, pink grapefruit, and cardamom; the heart reveals cinnamon, cloves, orange, and nutmeg; while the base notes complete the structure with vanilla, leather, amber, and vetiver.

I bought this Gold Extreme by Ted Lapidus just for the price, but honestly, it smells almost identical to Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million, maybe with a slightly more fruity and plastic twist. After trying it a few times, my verdict is clear: I didn’t like it. It’s too sweet, synthetic, and cloying, like that original American pink bubblegum. The dry down smells like baby powder, which is the worst part. While it feels modern and not retro like the original, chasing the 1 Million trend isn’t the best move. Like all Ted Lapidus fragrances, the sillage and longevity are monstrous, so use it sparingly.

A disappointment, it’s like an imitation of One Million, which is already a very overdone perfume. The worst of Ted Lapidus. The classic is indeed different, but then they started making weird blends.
Ted Lapidus Gold Extreme is a happy foray into modern commercial perfumery. It offers a genre that takes juvenile gourmand bases to give its own version. The bottle is a lovely youthful update of the classic. The juice has little to do with the 80s Lapidus; they are different perfumes that only share the name. They say it’s an imitation of One Million, but I disagree. They are similar, but it could also resemble Versace Eros. They share style, and that’s all. In the opening, a potent note of unnatural cherries stands out, expanding under a base of vanilla, tonka, and leather common today. The effect is smelling like someone wearing One Million while licking a strawberry lollipop. In the drydown, the cherry fades and the sweet, hazy, and modern base shines through. Being Lapidus, the projection and longevity are above average. I find it more refined and mature than the style it references, not so much for a young person wanting to grab attention. Its gourmand edge and performance make it ideal for special occasions, but not unmentionable for daily wear. It smells good, sweet, and doesn’t get heavy. It fits current tastes and its price is lower than others of the style. Excellent proposal from Lapidus.
DNA similar to 1 Million but nothing alike. Smells like tutti frutti, no more no less, like the air fresheners in clothing stores. A synthetic and low-quality fragrance.

Ted Lapidus Gold Extreme is an EDT that, according to reviews, was extreme in opening, sillage, and projection. After several tests, I confirm the opening is soft but increases in seconds. The synthetic aroma combined with pink pepper is pleasant, lasts 15 minutes, then turns soapy and pleasant. You can detect the cinnamon and cardamom. It lasts 7 hours on skin; by the eighth hour, it’s skin scent. Sillage and projection are moderate. The only thing I expected was a beastly sillage and duration like in the reviews. I applied 6 to 7 sprays. Despite this, it’s a good fragrance to be an EDT and meets the quality that characterizes Ted Lapidus.
TO SWEETEN THE DEAL, IT HAS ITS CHARM: It’s a fruity, sweet, and vanilla cocktail, yes, synthetic, but without that harsh alcohol bite found in other scents. It has a charm that grows on you over time. It keeps that vintage 80s essence with a modern touch, though it’s not really for younger folks, although if given a chance, they might appreciate it. The opening is fresh with chaotic notes that initially reminded me of cherry caramel or store-bought gummies, but it clears up over time, highlighting pink pepper and vanilla, then cinnamon, and finally vanilla and amber. At first, it’s confusing, but with time, you get hooked on the taste. It’s not a blind buy, not for the general crowd, nor very modern, but compared to its infamous twin Black Extreme, it seems like the most modern option in the world. Curiously, even though it’s synthetic, it doesn’t smell cheap; there are more expensive perfumes that sting more than this, which feels consistent and durable. What you smell at the start is what you smell 80% of the time, which is a plus. Buy it only if you’re a Ted Lapidus fan and miss its past glory, since the brand is on the brink of extinction. Despite its age, it has a pleasant touch for young people; in my family of 20-year-olds, it suits them well, so it’s viable for someone wanting to step away from modern aromas. Recommended sprays: 4 to 6. Fixative: 8. Sillage: Medium-Heavy. Intensity: Medium-High.
ALL IN ALL, IT HAS ITS CHARM: It’s a fruity, sweet, spiced, and vanilla cocktail. Yes, synthetic, but without that penetrating alcohol found in others. It has a charm that blooms with use. It keeps that vintage 80s essence with a modern touch, though it doesn’t aim to please the younger crowd, but if given a chance, it suits them well. The opening is fresh, with mixed notes that initially reminded me of cherry caramel, then clearing up with pink pepper and vanilla, cinnamon, and finally vanilla and amber. It creates confusion at first, but over time, you grow to like it. It’s not for blind buying, not for the general taste, nor very modern, but compared to its twin ‘Black Extreme’, it seems the most modern in the world. Despite being synthetic, it doesn’t smell low quality; there are more expensive fragrances with excessive irritating alcohol, not here. It feels consistent, long-lasting, with little evolution and a constant vanilla vibe. You smell the same from start to finish, which is good. Buy it only if you’re a fan of Ted Lapidus and have nostalgia for its past glory. Even though it’s years old, it has a pleasant touch for young people; I’ve heard it on family members in their 20s and it suits them well. Viable for someone wanting to step out of modern scents. Sprays: 4 to 6. Fixative: 8. Sillage: Medium-Heavy. Intensity: Medium-High.
Clearly synthetic, but for me, it’s a very attractive and addictive scent that makes you noticed without being overwhelming; it’s friendly and attention-grabbing. In the dry down, it has air of the 1 Million, but in my opinion, Ted Lapidus has much more charm, plus it lasts and projects twice as well as Paco Rabanne’s for 25% of the price, totally recommended.
Clearly synthetic, but for me, it’s attractive and addictive; you won’t go unnoticed without overwhelming anyone. The scent is friendly and draws attention. In the drydown, it has an air of One Million, but the Ted Lapidus version has more charm. It lasts and projects twice as long as the Paco Rabanne one, and at 25% of the price, it’s totally recommended.
A very good contemporary fragrance, not the classic we’re used to, and you need to wear it with caution; it’s a cutting-edge scent that’s quite wearable. It smells like a specific era… honestly, it smells like this time, meaning it could be 1 Million, Invictus… you know, very good, and as always, Lapidus is affordable.
A very good contemporary fragrance, not the classic we’re used to, and it needs to be worn with caution. It’s a wearable avant-garde scent reminiscent of that era, like One Million or Invictus, if I know it. Very good, and as always, Lapidus is affordable.
Smells like a very soft One Million without the spice. Honestly, I didn’t like it; it doesn’t resemble the Ted Lapidus or Black Extreme versions at all—it’s totally different. I wouldn’t buy it again; there are better options. Lasts 6 to 8 hours, sillage and projection are 5/10, aroma is 5/10. Blind buy? Yes, it’s easy to wear, ideal for young people just starting out with fragrances.
I’ll never tire of recommending it; if you want something cheap and very, very good, this is the perfume you should choose, brother. It has presence, women love it, and above all, for a super accessible price, it has an aroma that attracts people. It’s for those reunion or party nights (in enclosed spaces), and you’ll see at least one person give you a compliment. Longevity is quite good, projecting for the first two hours; after that, I recommend reapplying, but on skin it lasts about 6 hours total. For the price and scent, it’s a no-brainer. My final rating, after 4 years of use (and it will remain my hidden relic): Longevity: 5-6 hrs (5.5/10), Peak: 2 hrs (8/10), Sillage: 7.5/10, Aroma: 8.5/10, Final Rating: 8/10. Personally, I got a lot of compliments and that’s why I have such an affection for it; I hope you do too, enjoy it.
I can’t stop recommending it: cheap and brutal. It has presence, women love it, and at an accessible price, it attracts attention. Ideal for meetings in enclosed spaces; you’ll definitely get compliments. Lasts well for the first two hours projecting, then reapply on dry skin and you’ll get another 6 hours. For the price and scent, there’s no competition. After 4 years of use, it’s still my hidden gem. Duration: 5-6h (5.5/10), sillage: 2h (8/10), trail: 7.5/10, aroma: 8.5/10, drydown: 8/10. It got me many compliments and I have a soft spot for it. Enjoy it.
I’ve never liked it; I used to wear it before bed and never got any compliments. I don’t recommend it.
It never worked for me. I used it to fall asleep and got zero compliments. I don’t recommend it.
