Descripción
Laine de Verre by Serge Lutens is an aromatic fragrance from the aromatic family, created for men and women. This composition, signed by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour and launched in 2014, unfolds a fragrance pyramid where top notes of lavender and bergamot give way to a heart of jasmine and rose, settling on a base of sandalwood and vetiver.

This fragrance fits into a new wave of current perfumery: pure conceptual art, almost minimalist, made for minorities but always mixed, designed to delight everyone as a contemplative olfactory experience. These are works of art where it doesn’t matter much how long they last on the skin or their sillage; they seem simple, but behind them lies hard, complicated artistic work. I would rate Laine de Verre as a beautiful and brilliant fragrance, cold, icy, and metallic, perfect for enjoying in summer and shielding from the heat. That effect comes from the many aldehydes it contains. It’s like touching a piece of cold metal that protects you from an unbearable day. If you like new, original, and different sensations, try it; it’s a unique and very special aroma, very rare for Lutens. Rating: 6.5

Laine de Verre reminds me of Casual Sex but intense, those moments that brighten your life. It has pure, cold, and citrusy notes, similar to the feeling of Creed’s Himalaya, organized and simple. It’s a casual chic aroma, very bold and light, ideal for hot days with confidence. Although it’s an EDP, I think the longevity is low. As they say, little of the good stuff, so I’m content to use it when I know I’ll be the center of the party. Rating 6/10
Laine de Verre… The first thing that comes to mind is Casual Sex, but with a lot more intensity. Those moments that wake you up with a unique essence. It has super pure, clear notes, cold and citrusy, just like the feeling Creed’s Himalaya gives me, not in the scent but in that purity and well-organized simplicity. I’d call it a casual chic aroma. It’s very bold, light, ideal for hot days when you feel confident. The sensation this EDP transmits is great, but in my opinion, the longevity is low for an EDP. As they say, little of the good stuff, so I’m content to use it at events where I know I’ll be the center of attention. Rating 6/10 Cheers.
The first time I smelled it, it was pure lime, like a clogged winter tap leaving cold, metallic water. When I tried it again, I noticed aldehydes, musk, and something citrusy, like tangerine. It’s an icy cologne that reminds me of musky sport lotions from the 90s and running laundry. It smells like clean white detergent, like my mom’s powder which was salty and effervescent. The opening is a machete strike of cryogenically frozen freshness, linear but with a warmer tone at the end. It reminds me of fresh, hard vegetables with industrial lemon. I like it for being different and comfortable, although it’s not worth the price. The performance is weak eau de toilette, two hours and nothing. If it appeared by magic, I would use it.
The first time I smelled it, it was pure lime, like a frozen winter tap clogged with cold, metallic water. When I tried it again, I looked up the notes: aldehydes, musk, maybe tangerine. It’s a refreshing, almost icy cologne that reminds me of musky sport lotions from the 90s and running washing machines. It smells like clean lime, mineral water, and that clean white musk of laundry detergent. It brings back memories of my mom’s powdered detergent: salty, soapy, and effervescent. The opening is a machete strike of cryogenically frozen freshness, like crystals, lime, and metal. It’s linear with a slight shift toward warmer tones, also evoking fresh, hard vegetables like green pepper and cucumber with industrial lemon. I like it for being different, comfortable but with a slightly gross touch. But it’s not worth the price; the performance is EDC level, two hours and nothing. A good idea that falls short if you count the cost per milliliter. If it appeared by magic, I’d love to use it.
It’s a refreshing and very acidic cologne, with aromatic citrus notes boosted by synthetic aldehydes that make it sharp. On my skin, it smells to very sour lemon peel with a citrusy white musk like a bath gel. Performance and sillage are moderate. I agree that it’s very expensive for what it offers, sellable only to Lutens lovers or those seeking something exclusive and artisanal. Otherwise, it doesn’t offer much: extremely acidic and sharp citrus, a ‘crystallized’ cologne as its name suggests.
It’s an EDP that smells like a super acidic, sharp cologne. Aromatic citrus notes boosted by synthetic aldehydes make it cutting. On my skin, it’s sour lemon peel with a white musk like a refreshing bath gel. Performance and sillage are moderate. I agree: it’s way too expensive for what it gives and only suits Lutens fans or those willing to spend on something exclusive. Otherwise, it doesn’t add much. Extremely acidic and sharp citrus, a ‘crystallized cologne’.
