About La Favorite
La Favorite by Jean Paul Gaultier: A New Oriental Floral
Jean Paul Gaultier introduces La Favorite, a women's fragrance that joins the house's lineup in 2026. It was composed by Amelie Jacquin and Quentin Bisch, two perfumers known for bold, distinctive creations.
La Favorite belongs to the Oriental Floral family, blending sparkling citrus, warm spices, and a creamy, amber-rich base. The result is a perfume that feels both classic and contemporary, with a strong personality.
The top notes open with ylang-ylang, cinnamon, bitter orange, lemon zest, and bergamot. This opening is lively and slightly intoxicating: the ylang-ylang adds an exotic floral touch, while cinnamon provides immediate warmth.
The heart reveals night-blooming jasmine, jasmine, geranium, rose, and juniper. Night-blooming jasmine is the star, offering a heady, almost narcotic aroma, while the supporting florals add softness and structure.
The base is built on benzoin, tonka bean, vanilla, Virginia cedar, and white musk. This dry-down is warm and comfortingly sweet, with a hint of woodiness and a gentle musky trail. It lingers on the skin gracefully.
Key accords include amber, vanilla, warm spicy, citrus, sweet, white floral, aromatic, and cinnamon notes. These layers give La Favorite versatility, making it equally at home during the day or on a special evening out.
With an average rating of 3.62 out of 5 based on over a hundred votes, La Favorite has already started to spark conversations among fragrance enthusiasts. It's a new scent that clearly makes an impression.
This perfume is for women who love rich, expressive fragrances. If you are drawn to oriental florals with an intense, warm character and a touch of spice, La Favorite might be your next signature.
La Favorite is a confident addition to Jean Paul Gaultier's collection. It offers a beautifully crafted balance of floral radiance and amber sweetness, delivering a memorable scent experience for those who dare to wear it.

👎🏿I didn’t like it at all. So powdery, sharp, and vintage floral that I dismissed it from the start. I wanted to leave it on my skin to see how it dried down, out of curiosity, and I couldn’t: I couldn’t stand the smell and washed my arm with soap. Even so, it still smelled, so the only good thing about it is its strength.
Unfortunately, I didn’t like it one bit. I expected something like Fragile, but it doesn’t resemble it at all, only the bottle… an absolute disappointment. I don’t find it floral… it’s sweet, woody, and a bit sharp, with the lady of the night covered by everything else… the drydown improves a little… something reminds me of Divine le parfum. In the end, Bisch’s signature is there, that’s clear. I strongly recommend trying it, and under no circumstances expect Fragile, which is one of the most beautiful perfumes of tuberose and white flowers ever created.
A perfume that changes over the hours. A tonka bean appears, accompanied by a very present floral touch (lady of the night) that awakens a sense of nighttime elegance. Then ylang-ylang appears, making it creamy and giving it that slightly fresher edge. It finishes on a drydown where, once again, the tonka bean steals the spotlight and remains for hours… On skin, after about 6 hours, it reminds me very much of the drydown of Ch jasmine absolute. A marvel.
