  An ode to the generic. David Beckham Instinct Sport smells more mainstream than its parent fragrance, which did target a more mature audience. This flanker fits both teenagers and middle-aged men alike. The opening is slightly alcoholic and reminds me of any cheap men’s spray deodorant, those that don’t even say what they smell like. I immediately notice a hint of orange with an oceanic, aquatic base. In the heart, the scent sweetens and approaches the fruity aroma of a bright, waxed red apple. Sometimes I can faintly detect slight echoes of Hugo Boss’s Boss in Motion. This juicy, fruity scent with an acidic touch lasts until the very end. Despite my unenthusiastic review, I haven’t disliked it. It’s a synthetic aroma that oscillates between fruity and oceanic, very handy when you don’t know what to wear. It doesn’t bother me, and lately I’ve been surprised to find myself reaching for it often; in fact, I haven’t stopped using it since I bought it. DV Instinct Sport is a versatile scent that doesn’t invent anything but doesn’t deceive anyone either.
