Elixir Attar is one of those houses that renew our love for perfumery. They play in the top leagues of independent perfumery alongside giants like Bortnikoff, Areej Le Dore, or Ensar Oud. We’re not talking about traditional perfumery; when you get close to fragrances of this caliber, you feel you’re holding something delicate, artisanal, almost spiritual. With Ghaliya Rosarie, we have a fragrance built around three notes: rose, musk, and ambergris. A very musky rose, with a genuine musk that adds warmth and nuance, a powdery dry-down, and an ambergris that’s always perceptible. In the dry-down, where in my opinion it becomes the star, it turns out to be one of the most prominent ambergris scents I’ve ever smelled, if not the best. Everything is incredibly balanced, rounded, and subtle. It’s a fragrance that surprises by the sum of its parts: each ingredient is splendid on its own, of amazing quality, but the whole is simply dazzling.
