Just by smelling it, you can tell this Cohiban Coffee Oud Extreme stands out from the crowd among tobacco perfumes. It’s a warm, refined scent that brings to mind autumn, with those ochre and light brown tones. While tobacco is present, it’s not the only king; a soft honey sweetens it without being cloying, and the cocoa adds a more appetizing touch. The oud, resinous yet gentle, ties everything together in perfect harmony and balance from start to finish. It’s a classic exotic blend with a depth that’s hard to match, not dense but subtle and elegant. It reminds me of Bortnikoff’s Oud Monarch for that oud, tobacco, and cocoa profile, but this one stays more on the tobacco side while the other leans floral. It’s an emotional scent, one of those you search for and struggle to find. Without a doubt, it’s superior. Cheers!
What a shame… Scent: Starts fleeting, spicy, and intense, but drops in tone within seconds, revealing a dark chocolate that cuts through to add sweetness. It’s a top-tier dusty chocolate—crisp and addictive. The tobacco is barely noticeable at first, just a subtle aromatic note. What I smell most is the chocolate, with coffee in the background adding that spicy, bitter touch, softened by the chocolate. This drydown lasts a while without losing warmth; it’s cozy. Gradually, the tobacco takes center stage, very natural, like tobacco leaf, without feeling heavy. It remains warm and inviting. The sweet notes are there from start to finish, in their own way. It’s not gourmand, not even close, just softening. In the heart, there’s something between intoxicating and sweet; it smells like cherry, though I doubt it—I struggle to identify it. In the drydown, it could be honey. Finally, it leaves an intense tobacco aroma, nothing ethereal, almost like a cream that lingers until the end. Still warm and balsamic. I don’t detect the oud clearly. No floral notes at all. It’s a great fragrance, but… the performance is abysmal. Barely skin-level for the first hour. If it lasted, it would be a gem, but it neither lasts nor projects. What a pity. A huge handicap at these prices. It leans slightly masculine, perfect for cold days and dressing up when you’re looking for something comforting. But as I said, what a shame…
