It seems Ferrari launched an entire new line called Essence, aiming for a quality leap in their perfumes. Alongside Oud Essence and Leather Essence, they’ve caught me off guard, and I have to say, in my opinion, they smell better than the previous versions. All three have a powerful trail and good longevity. Here, you can really smell the coconut, lavender, patchouli, cinnamon, and a touch of incense, cedar, and guaiac. It’s a bit creamy but smells great. The Silver is more versatile than the Leather and Oud. As always, opinion is very personal and my perception may vary from others’. However, the best thing is to try the perfume yourself without blindly following reviews.

This perfume is quite bold. Like its brother Leather, spices dominate: more cinnamon than nutmeg and pepper. After the initial herbal burst, coconut and woods take over. While others pick up the incense and birch, I’d place those in the base to give it body. The interesting thing is how it blends the woody, spicy, and aromatic (classic and masculine) with coconut. This adds creaminess without being overly sweet; it might not suit many, but that’s what makes it peculiar, and it doesn’t work badly for me. Performance is quite good.
I picked up this discontinued fragrance at a good price on eBay, since I used to think it was too expensive. It’s different from the current 2021 versions and very interesting: upon spraying, the sweet, creamy coconut comes through filtered by woods and incense. As it settles, I notice patchouli and leather, a familiar scent I can’t quite identify. It’s a hidden gem in the Essence line. What a pity it’s discontinued.
I just picked up this discontinued fragrance at a good price, since it seemed too expensive on eBay. It’s worth noting that it smells different from the current 2021 versions and is quite interesting; the first thing I notice upon spraying is the coconut—a very sweet and creamy one filtered through woods and incense. As it settles, I perceive patchouli and leather, which sounds like a familiar scent I can’t quite identify. It’s a pretty good perfume and a hidden gem in the Ferrari Essence line. What a pity they don’t sell it anymore.
The Essence line raises the bar compared to the rest of Ferrari: upon spraying, the Leather DNA is immediately noticeable, but woodier, smokier, and balsamic. It reminds me of a woodier Fahrenheit with a tropical coconut touch. It has great potential, dries well, and is very complex. Sage opens with freshness and a herbal note, while the pepper is dosed just right so it doesn’t make you sneeze. Cinnamon and nutmeg elevate the spice with a sweetness that grows as the woodier coconut emerges, without losing that balsamic vibe. In the base, a fine incense guides toward a relaxing finish. The trail is clear for the first two hours and gradually fades, lasting around 5-6 hours in summer. Approved.
