A fascinating late 19th-century perfume, relaunched in the 20s with that trendy Egyptian theme. There’s almost no info on its ingredients, but my nose screams cloves as the heart note, softened by citrus and hints of incense and spices. I also detect florals, maybe lilac or carnation. The clove takes the lead, giving it an intriguing oriental vibe right when it wasn’t even in style yet. Despite everything, it’s not loud; the version I have is a lotion. Another gem from Lubin.
