Not bad, but I bought it blindly and imagined it to be much more challenging and animalic than it turned out. In the end, it’s a very wearable fragrance for almost any occasion. First, I was struck by the packaging: spectacular box and bottle. The bottle is heavy, made of opaque glass with a liquid that looks like aged bourbon, and the cap reminds me of Xerjoff with its elegant pom-pom. As for the scent, I expected an animalic oud based on the name ‘Death by Oud’, but it’s a soft oud with medicinal hints, not the star. The opening is fruity and citrusy with grapefruit, barely any lavender, and an undeclared coconut that transitions into spices and amber, with tobacco and a touch of leather. As it dries down, the oud emerges, medicinal and even mentholated. It’s a good perfume with a high oil concentration that evolves on the skin, but it’s neither challenging nor difficult. If you’re looking for an animalic or barnyard oud, this isn’t your fragrance.
