I smelled it today, and it smells like Yves Rocher’s mango and coconut perfume from a few summers ago; the longevity and sillage are also short, just like theirs.
It smells like Herbal Essences coconut shampoo—very synthetic. The bottle is eye-catching and girly, but in my opinion, it’s not a good fragrance.
They gave me a sample card, I liked it, and decided to buy it, which turned out to be my mistake. Once I put it on my skin, it became overwhelming, even giving me a headache; it smells too much like coconut. I see it as similar to the Yves Rocher cologne; it’s fine for teenagers or anyone who loves the smell of coconut, but I don’t see it for me; I prefer perfumes with more personality.
I was given a sample and liked it, but buying it was my mistake. On my skin, it’s too cloying; it even makes me feel nauseous. It smells very much like coconut, similar to the Yves Rocher cologne. It’s fine for teenagers or anyone who loves coconut, but I don’t see it as a fit for me. I prefer perfumes with more personality.
I have a sample, and although I’ve never been a fan of fruity scents, this perfume surprised me. The scent is straightforward: it smells like a fruit blend, with coconut, pineapple, and a bit of apple standing out. It’s like a few drops of DKNY Be Delicious mixed with the sweetness of coconut and the kick of pineapple. Even though it has fruity notes, it seems much more elegant than Yves Rocher colognes, which I think are for little girls. Escada is youthful and energetic, those are the words. Perfect for a hot summer night or afternoon.
I have a sample and I’ve never been a fan of fruity scents, but this surprised me. It smells like a fruit blend, with coconut, pineapple, and a hint of apple standing out. It’s like DKNY Be Delicious but with the sweetness of coconut and the kick of pineapple. Even though it’s fruity, it feels more elegant than Yves Rocher’s fruit colognes, which seem aimed at little girls. Escada is youthful and energetic. Perfect for a hot summer night or afternoon.
I love this fragrance; on hot days I wear it every day, even to work. This cheerful, relaxed tropical scent reminds me of vacations, and I can already picture myself on the beach, in the sand, tanned, in the ocean, super happy… It’s nothing like Yves Rocher’s fruit colognes; Born in Paradise is much more elegant, no comparison.
For now, the bottle is new but has poor longevity. It has a strange opening: the creaminess of the coconut drowns out the freshness of the watery sweetness of the watermelon; in my opinion, they don’t blend well. The rest is guava and cedar.
What a tragic story behind this delight… I smelled it last winter and fell in love. I waited until summer 2014 to buy it: watermelon, coconut, pineapple, apple, and cream. A perfect tropical cocktail. The gorgeous seafoam green bottle with a pink flower that doubles as a ring is stunning. I bought 50ml and enjoyed it… for two weeks. My sister accidentally broke it. At least the room smelled like Born in Paradise for weeks or months. Perfect for summer.
What a tragic story this eau de toilette has… I first heard of it last winter when it launched, and I was instantly hooked after a girl sprayed some on me. Since it’s so summery, I waited until summer 2014 to buy it. It was the perfect scent: watermelon, coconut, pineapple, apple, cream… a tropical and exotic cocktail, a creamy sweet piña colada. The pure essence of summer in a beautiful seafoam green bottle with a pink flower on the cap that served as a ring. I took the 50ml and enjoyed it… for about two weeks. Barely two weeks later, my sister accidentally knocked it to the floor and broke it. Well, at least the room smelled like Born in Paradise for weeks or months. I hope to get it again soon; it’s a perfect summer perfume. Perfect!
100% summer fragrance: watermelon, kiwi, and piña colada. It charms both young and not-so-young people. I find it cute for the beach or casual outings. It’s not elegant, but it has amazing longevity and is super fun.
100% summer fragrance, impossible to wear any other time. Watermelon, kiwi, and piña colada… young people absolutely love it (and not so much the older crowd). I think it smells great and is perfect for beach nights or casual plans. It’s not elegant, but it projects amazingly well and is super fun.
Too sweet for my taste.
Delicious—Caribbean summer in a bottle. On my skin, watermelon and coconut stand out; I associate them with summer, joy, and the beach. It doesn’t seem synthetic; rather, it feels natural, cheerful, and fruity. Without a doubt, I’m considering buying it for this summer.
Very sweet, smells like piña colada. It feels relaxed and fun, perfect for enjoying the summer.
Delicious! It’s Caribbean summer in a bottle. On my skin, the watermelon and coconut really shine; I associate it with joy, the beach, and fresh fruit. It doesn’t smell synthetic, but rather natural, cheerful, and fruity. I’m definitely going to buy this for this summer.
Besides the coconut and pineapple, I smelled a hint of peach… Too fruity and sweet. I presume it’s only for an age range of 15 to 20 years old. Cheerful, teenage, beachy, summery… Too expensive. There are other very similar perfumes with better prices (and even more delicate).
Instant love at first sniff. It’s perfect, super summery, and reminds me of the Caribbean. The top notes feature coconut and watermelon. Too bad it’s a limited edition. It’s similar to Marc Jacobs Dot, but not the same. Later, on the skin, they don’t resemble each other at all.
I own this fragrance, and the first time I smelled it, I was instantly smitten. It’s perfect, super summery, and reminds me of the Caribbean! I love that in the top notes, you can clearly perceive the coconut and watermelon. It’s a pity it’s a limited edition; the only similar one in the top notes but not identical is Marc Jacobs’ Dot, it’s in the same style but not the same, and then in the dry down, they don’t resemble each other at all.
I bought this perfume without having smelled it before (there were no testers in the store), going by the reviews and hoping it smelled more like sunscreen than a piña colada… When I smelled it, my nose didn’t find the sunscreen resemblance, but rather a piña colada (which I don’t dislike, I must say). I really expected more sweet coconut, but it feels very subtle. Still, after using it several times each, I like it more; it’s a rich, youthful, informal perfume, ideal for cold days and summer nights. Something I adore is its longevity on clothes; it smells amazing, and I think I like it more that way than on the skin. Without a doubt, for summer informal beach parties, it would be my first choice 🙂
I was fascinated by my first Escada ‘Turquoise Summer’; I finished it in a month and decided to buy a second bottle along with ‘Born in Paradise’. I must say that the latter doesn’t quite work for me: I smell the coconut very strongly, but more like oil than coconut milk. It smells like sunscreen, which I don’t entirely like. When it softens, I can feel the sweet fruity blend, though I don’t detect a specific fruit, just a sweet fruity aroma with that persistent coconut oil scent that doesn’t convince me.
I love it. I bought the 100ml and now I have the 30ml. It smells fresh and soft, neither strong nor annoying. You can definitely smell the watermelon with coconut, and I detect a slight touch of pineapple-apple. Its fixation is very good.
‘Born in Paradise’ is so fun and playful that it screams beach and party; it feels clearly youthful. I agree that it smells like a piña colada, which I like: it’s sweet but not cloying. Besides the pineapple and coconut, I detect watermelon and guava; the sandalwood is just a whisper. It’s a fragrance that invites you to smile, simple but charming, funny, the soul of the party, though I think the scent is very teenage. Sillage and longevity are moderate.
Simply delicious, sweet, and wearable. It invites you to summer even on the coldest days thanks to the coconut milk and pineapple, which give a sweet and fresh touch.
A delicate and tender scent for hot days. On my skin, watermelon, guava, and pineapple stand out at the start; then sandalwood with a musky touch appears, though the watermelon lingers. It’s a rich smell, but it doesn’t last long on my skin: about 3 to 4 hours with a low sillage. It’s for personal enjoyment ♡♡♡. What luck for those who love it so much 🌻.
Although my passion for perfumes is recent, I always looked forward to Escada’s summer launches. From ‘Island Kiss’ to ‘Born in Paradise’, I tried them all, and this is my favorite, along with ‘Rockin’ Río’. Wearing it feels like traveling to French Polynesia (just in my dreams, haha) with a piña colada in hand: paradise in a bottle. It opens with exotic fruits, guava, and pineapple that soon give way to coconut and watermelon. The heart is sweet and creamy, led by coconut, with a woody base. I don’t know why I’m so fascinated by how simple and ‘artificial’ it is. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been gifted it; it’s by far the one I own the most and still love the most. It’s relaxed, fresh, fun, youthful, feminine, and very summery. The longevity was decent, better than their disappointing recent launches, though it did need reapplication. I saved a vial from my last bottle as a souvenir; while there are dupes, I really wish Escada would return with this tropical cocktail, like they did in 2011. I’d definitely rock it.
I loved it! The coconut was very dominant, and I used it non-stop in the summer. I really hope Escada brings it back, just like they did with Sorbetto Rosso, another one of my favorites.
