  Nero! The darkest, woodier, warmer, aromatic, and sweetest of the ‘di colori’ trio for men, alongside Blu and Verde. Perfect for daily wear in the heat, it complements a relaxed look for someone very active. It suits my husband perfectly. At home, my son has Verde and Blu, my husband has Nero, and I have Rosso, Bianco, and Giallo; all fresh, soft, summery, and casual.

  It starts well—warm, fresh, and green—but the trail vanishes in a flash. Ideal for daily use.

  Between Nothing: I tried it in 2011 and even though I finished the bottle, it never won me over. It starts fresh and sweet with tangerine, but the mint blend threw me off. Then comes lemon, mace, wood, and patchouli. The result is a Frankenstein with no direction or character; it works for no-frills daily wear if you don’t mind that weird cocktail. The fixative fails: it doesn’t last, forcing you to reapply or over-saturate. If you spray more, it suffocates you because the opening is intense and the Benneton alcohol burns and irritates. It lacks clear personality, suits hot daytime climates and informal moments, but not for closing deals. If you’re looking for something cheap, go with Ocean Pacific Blend, Oriflame’s Midsummer, or Nautica Voyage. My advice: 4 or 7 sprays. Fixative 7, medium sillage, medium intensity.
