  A lost treasure among the vineyards of Sainte-Cécile, where fresh roses blend with spicy sensuality thanks to Daltroff’s lyrical touch. It’s a perfumed garden under a warm night. This 1927 masterpiece was born from Daltroff’s Italian holidays with his muse Félicie Wanpouille in Bellagio, inspired by the spicy carnation of Villa Serbellonio. It achieves that nocturnal, aphrodisiac femininity with roses and carnations wrapped in a potent clove incense. I’ve worn this scent for years; I remember the white rose garden in my hometown in Burgundy, so intense it smells like the pure rose of this perfume. Citrus opening with bergamot and lime, followed by a sweet, powdery nutmeg. The carnation and rose create a dense, spicy mist with bitter undertones. In the heart, Florentine iris and violet add a curious freshness after the opulent opening, while the jasmine maintains elegance. The base is a masterful, romantic, and dark clove that balances vanilla and musk with serenity. Its longevity is impressive, lasting up to 12 hours, tumultuous yet unshakable, keeping its promise of elegance. Although hard to find, it’s worth seeking out at specialty stores or through swaps.
