  First impression: an animalic perfume to the max, smells like damp stable straw with mud and manure. For those of us who have been in the countryside in South America, especially in southern Chile during winter, it’s a characteristic aroma: a wet forest of firs, pines, and eucalyptus behind a hacienda, with a stable in the back filled with cows, sheep, and horses. It smells like a winter countryside, where you know if you step outside it’ll be freezing and you’ll see steam coming from the mouths of the little animals taking refuge in their stables. If I had to define this perfume in one word, it would be COUNTRYSIDE. Longevity and sillage are incredible; it lasts all day. Starts complex and ends complex. What stands out most are the animalic, earthy, and green notes. Totally recommended. Pryn perfumes are masterpieces.

  I finally managed to get this fragrance, which seems discontinued, at a great price (I saw it on eBay for $465). It literally smells like dark potion, magic, and santería, but in a good way. It evokes moments and places, like the Sonora market in CDMX: peculiar, magical, and exotic. It smells like shamanic herbs, leather, earth, and woods. At first, it’s very green and earthy; it reminds me of my childhood, my grandmother’s nativity scenes adorned with hay and the ‘flor de peña’ from the Bajío—a scent of rain but greener. Then it evolves into lavender, saffron, and beeswax over a hint of incense. I really loved it. 10/10 aroma, though I don’t think it’s for everyone. Worth trying if you like these notes.

When it opens, it’s very green and earthy; it reminds me of my childhood, my grandmother’s nativity scenes adorned with hay and the ‘peña flower’ from the Bajío, a scent of rain but greener. Then it evolves into lavender, saffron, and beeswax over a touch of incense. I really loved it. Scent 10/10, though I don’t think it’s for everyone. Worth trying if you like these notes.

  I wore a Pryn Parfums fragrance today. I was eager to try it after reading its notes: goat hair, cypriol, cypress, and leather. It might sound intimidating or like a witch’s potion, but if you enjoy niche scents, it’s a marvel. It smells like a dark, damp forest, similar to Encre Noir Extreme by Lalique (not the same, but they travel the same path). It’s unisex but leans masculine, perfect for rain and cold; I wouldn’t wear it in the heat. Good projection, not a beast, but you’ll definitely be noticed at arm’s length.

It’s one of my favorites, regardless of whether it’s for men or women. Perfect for cold days and nights. You won’t get compliments, but people will definitely say, ‘And the cheese?’
