A huge disappointment if you expected something similar to the original Arab version. This is the version sold in Spain of its predecessor, Arabian Nights. They have nothing to do with each other; these are two completely different fragrances. This one has nothing to do with Arabian or Nights. It’s a suede base with vanilla where violet, incense, some amber, and cedar stand out. It reminds me a lot of Dior Homme, especially Intense and Parfum, sometimes seeming to be one of them. It could be from Zara. I expected more than what I got. Very expensive for a pretty fragrance. Sillage and longevity are moderate, no more than 6 hours at full performance, then it fades to skin scent.
Buddy, is 6 hours at full performance and then fading to skin scent considered moderate?
I hate special editions for Arab millionaires that the rest of us can’t even try or buy due to outrageous prices.
If I take the Black Arabian Nights as a reference, its longevity is terribly deficient. For me, the Black version lasts over 16 hours at full performance; it’s brutal. That’s why I say this version disappoints me so much in both duration and formula, as it smells more like Dior Homme…
This is a beast of a perfume. I love violets, and here it reminds me of the soap Jabonman, with a slightly greasy and powdery touch. Curiously, the rose feels like a citrus note in the opening. The star is the violet, noticeable from start to finish. The only downside is that it burns the nose a bit, probably due to the cumin and incense; they don’t smell dirty or burnt—the incense is more like dry olibanum. There’s little patchouli and musk, and I don’t recognize the cyprus. The amber and suede remind me of previous works by Polge: powdery, balsamic scents with iris. The amber is soft, more vanilla than labdanum, not very resinous. The suede shares a lot with Fahrenheit Parfum, which has vanilla; here it’s soft amber. Performance: I can smell it on myself without issue for 10 hours or more. It’s a shame it burns a bit, because that balsamic violet is top-tier.
The Arabian Nights Private Collection by Jesús del Pozo takes us on an olfactory journey with a rich opening where suede serves as the backdrop. The incense is palpable, like standing in a Middle Eastern shop filled with leathers and carpets. It’s a fragrance that, while not projecting much, captivates through its sophistication and introspective character.
Smells like a sophisticated, eccentric millionaire—the trail of a sheikh stepping out of a Rolls Royce. It’s opulent and magnificent, already discontinued and part of a private collection; now it’s worth its weight in gold. You can still find it in shop basements as testers or decants, and you might get lucky, especially in Arab countries. Jesús del Pozo nailed it: 100% masculine, a scent that leaves a mark wherever it goes. Every ingredient is well-crafted, true niche quality. If you can get your hands on it, buy it; it will become a legend. A rare aroma that makes people ask who you are and where you got it. It’s up to you to reveal the secret or keep the charm.
