I love Alien and Alien Eau Extraordinaire. I’m dying to smell it.
I just received a sample and I’m head over heels. I can’t distinguish the notes separately; it’s a perfect blend of extremely powerful and sensual white musk with spices, wrapped in jasmine and cashmere, all perfectly balanced, making it a sexy bomb. Highly recommended, especially for autumn and winter. A Mugler gem, different, dark, and very seductive.
It’s an atomic bomb. But I like it. It’s a difficult scent… I don’t know anything else like it.
Alien toned down with lots of musk. If you love Pure Musc-style musk and Alien, this is your must-have. I loved it infinitely.
What a gem, for real. The releases that came out when Thierry Mugler was alive and under Clarins’ production are unbeatable. Alien Musc Mysterieux is a flanker of Alien with serious attitude—dirty and powerful. It’s got tons of musk, but the spices take the lead: I can’t define it all, but I smell black pepper and a perfectly crafted touch of cumin. Usually, cumin in perfumes reminds me of sweaty armpits, but here it complements that delicious musk that lasts through the entire evolution and tones down the usual combo in the line (cashmere and jasmine, here with an indolic twist) or maybe the jasmine absolute because we’re almost at the urine note but don’t quite make it. In the base, there’s a delicious vanilla replacing the amber from the original, adding a slight sweet touch, all perfectly balanced by the rest. It’s a solid flanker of Alien; these are my first impressions since I just bought it today, and it made me so happy. I never thought this edition would have such a gorgeous presentation. Dominic Ropion is a master, and you can tell the original is his because he’s worked it to perfection. Keep in mind that part of what I’m feeling might be conditioned by oxidation time, which you can see in the liquid’s color; it launched in 2017, so it’s already 9 years old.
