Tabac Blond sparked the fragrance trend of the 1920s with that free, dreamy, androgynous, and rebellious woman seeking to escape boring roses. It found refuge in tobacco, leather, vanilla, and sandalwood/pachuli—something women craved that other brands would later copy. It’s that blend of leather and vanilla with a touch of tobacco; back then, smoking was super elegant. Maybe it inspired Habanita and Cuir de Russie, though all three share a lot, Tabac Blond is the one that best honors the leather. It’s a masterpiece that set a trend and still does.
