  • The best rose perfume I’ve ever smelled… and I’ve tried many, since I never go without a handmade rose absolute, and my mother, who is a rose enthusiast, has her own collection too. It’s a sublime, adorned rose (if it can be any more beautiful) with osmanthus, a soft vetiver, musk, and I don’t know what else… because it has mystery. Avoid thinking of Encre Noir as just a floral perfume or something in clouds of cotton candy… it’s more like the spiritual rose, with thorns, that only a few know how to capture… the rose gifted by love. A jewel in my collection.

  • The best rose perfume I’ve tried so far… I’ve tested many, since I never go without a handmade rose absolute, and my mother, who is crazy about roses, has her own collection too. It’s a sublime, adorned rose (can it get any more beautiful?) with osmanthus, a soft vetiver, musk, and something more… because it has mystery. Don’t see it as a simple floral or cotton candy… it’s more like the spiritual rose, with thorns, that only a few achieve… the rose gifted by love. A jewel in my collection.

  • It’s definitely not a ‘diluted’ perfume. The vetiver is subtle. As for the trail and longevity… I put it on at 8 am and can still smell it at 4 pm (a bit more muted, of course). In Encre Noir, the rose leads the way… with cedar, a soft vetiver, ambrette, osmanthus, and a ‘something else’ that I love. Although there are many rose perfumes, I haven’t heard of another one quite like it to compare. I recommend trying it slowly 🙂

  • The perfume arrived, and the first spray is a bomb of rose and freesia, followed by cedar, but the rose dominates from start to finish with a powdery touch. It reminds me of my childhood home; it’s very sweet and floral, with no noticeable woodiness. It’s not a woody musk floral or modern; I see it more as a fragrance for a mature woman than a girl. It’s a singular, slightly strange scent, nothing common these days, very elegant—perhaps too much. I’ll try it another day; I don’t love it entirely, but it didn’t bother me. Lalique and Dior are my favorite brands. Maybe today wasn’t the day for Encre Noir, but I think with more wood or vanilla it would be perfect; today it feels excessively floral and rosy. I only tested it on my wrist; maybe I should try it on my neck and décolletage too. Edit: With a vanilla body milk, it transformed into a great fragrance on my skin. It remains elegant, but the rose is no longer so clear. Now I think I can wear it without issues; it might work even better in spring.

  • Encre Noir doesn’t smell masculine at all; it’s totally feminine and soft, without falling into typical floral territory. For me, it’s sensual and elegant; when I wore it today, people asked what perfume I was wearing because it smelled so, very feminine and classy.

  • Encre Noir smells nothing like a man’s perfume; it’s totally feminine with a soft scent that isn’t exclusively floral. To me, it’s sensual and feminine; when I wore it today, people asked what perfume I was wearing because it smelled so sensual, elegant, and feminine.

  • I just received it, and the first spray is a bomb of rose and freesia, then cedar appears, but I still smell powdery rose from the start. It reminds me of my childhood; it’s very sweet and floral, and I don’t detect any wood. It’s not a floral woody musk or anything modern; I see it as a fragrance for a mature woman, not a girl. It’s singular, strange, and elegant, perhaps too much. I need to try it another day; I don’t like it entirely, but it didn’t disgust me either. Lalique and Dior are my favorite brands. Maybe today just wasn’t the right day; I think with more wood or vanilla it would be perfect, but today it seems excessively floral-rose. I only tested it on my wrist; maybe I should try it on my neck or décolleté. Edit: with a vanilla body milk, it became something really good on my skin. It’s still elegant, but the rose is no longer so clear. Now I think I can wear it without issues; it might work better in spring.

  • A fragrance for special or formal occasions, incredibly elegant. Age doesn’t matter, only style, the occasion, or the season, but it does require a distinguished and uncommon scent that makes a difference. Apply it moderately; it has great projection and lasting power.

A beautiful rose perfume that smells like pink, flushed petals—nothing synthetic, but the natural aroma of the flower with ingredients that give it depth. It’s not a youthful, innocent rose, but a mature, splendid one: elegant yet ethereal, desired but inaccessible due to its thorns; they’ve touched it, and it knows how to defend itself. The longevity is excellent on my skin (over 10 hours with a moderate trail and another 3 or 4 hours close to the skin, still perceptible). Applied lightly, it’s perfect for daytime and holds up for semi-formal evening outings like dinners or romantic dates; I can’t imagine it in clubs. It’s for a quiet, well-mannered woman. If you love rose perfumes, this must be in your collection. A true beauty that I hope to keep forever.

A stunning rose perfume that smells like fresh, pink petals with absolutely no synthetic notes—just the deep, natural aroma of the flower. It’s not a youthful or innocent rose, but a mature, splendid one: elegant yet ethereal, desired but inaccessible due to its thorns, which know how to defend themselves. The longevity is excellent on my skin, lasting over 10 hours with a moderate trail and another 3 to 4 hours close to the skin. Applied lightly, it works beautifully for daytime and holds up for semi-formal evening outings like dinners or romantic dates; I can’t imagine it in clubs. • The bottle makes you think of something it’s not, but I loved that surprise. On me, it starts with a soft bergamot that stays in the background to let the rose speak. It appears without warning, sweet and a little powdery, almost salmon-colored, and splendid. The musk and cedar make it woody and fresh, with a soft vetiver adding depth. I don’t usually like roses on their own, but when they’re surrounded by enveloping notes like this, they’re unmatched. It’s floral, elegant, and feminine. At first, it seems very soft, but then it warms up on the skin and develops. If you overapply, it can be a handful; with the right dose, it’s incredibly delicate. It’s meant for formal events or work; it would be wasted in casual situations. It’s a modern classic, fresh, and versatile. I use it in autumn or spring, but it works year-round. It has good longevity and sillage; sometimes I catch a whiff close to my skin, and other times I get bursts of it, which I love. Its soul is white and warm, not black like its name. A timeless blind buy that stays in my closet forever.

  • It’s true that the bottle makes you imagine a different scent, but I loved the contrast. On me, it starts with a soft bergamot note that then fades into the background; here, the rose takes the lead. It appears unexpectedly, very sweet and slightly powdery. It’s not a dark rose; I see it as salmon-colored, almost mature but with the splendor of the past. The musk and cedar make it sweet, woody, powdery, and fresh, with a very soft vetiver that adds deep nuances. I don’t like perfumes that are exclusively rose, but when it’s so delicate and surrounded by enveloping notes that perfect it, it becomes unmatched. It’s a soft floral, nothing loud, elegant and feminine. For day and night, depending on the number of sprays: at first it seems excessively soft, but then it warms up on the skin and develops. If you overapply, it’s fierce; if you use the right dose, it’s unimaginably delicate. A scent for formal events or work meetings; it would be wasted in casual settings. I see it as a modern classic, fresh and versatile. I use it as a formal fragrance for autumn or spring, day or night, but enjoy it in any season. Great longevity and trail; sometimes I smell it close to the skin, other times there are bursts of scent—I love that it surprises me. Its jar is dark, heavy, and mysterious, but its soul is white, warm, and dazzling. A blind buy, timeless, free from trends and advertising, something I’ve longed for and that now stays permanently in my wardrobe.

I’m a Lalique fanatic, and after reading such glowing reviews about Encre Noire, I decided to buy it without testing it first, since finding fragrances from this house in Barcelona is tough. The risk was low: Turkish rose is my favorite, and it’s the star here. The top notes of bergamot and freesia fade quickly, but that’s not the end; it’s the prelude to a sublime rose that unfolds slowly. It’s not a luminous or transparent rose, but rather mature, serene, classic, deep, and slightly smoky. The musk gives it a fresh, clean vibe, perfect for almost any season. It’s original and wearable, with a sober elegance that reminds me of Elizabeth Bennet: sweet but with character, a rose with thorns. The bottle is modern, black, and heavy, symbolizing that duality between tenderness and strength. Longevity is moderate, around 5 hours, and the sillage isn’t overwhelming. Ideal for cold weather, day or night. It’s a jewel in my collection.

I’m a huge Lalique fan, and after reading such glowing reviews about Encre Noire, I decided to buy it without testing it first since finding fragrances from this house in Barcelona is tough. The risk of buying blind wasn’t that high because roses are my favorite note, and the Turkish rose is the star here. It was hard for me not to like it. It starts with bergamot and freesia that quickly give way to a sublime rose. The top notes fade fast, but that’s just the prelude: the rose slowly opens its petals. It’s not a bright or transparent rose, but rather mature, serene, classic, deep, slightly dark, smoky, and very romantic. The musk adds cleanliness and freshness, making it suitable for almost all seasons. It’s original and wearable, but its complexity and the supremacy of the rose appeal to a specific style: pure elegance and refinement. It reminds me of Elizabeth Bennet, sweet and sensitive but with character—a rose with thorns. The bottle is deceptive: classic gold lettering on an inkwell evoking aristocracy, yet the bottle itself is modern, rectangular, black, heavy, and masculine, symbolizing that duality between tenderness and strength. Its longevity is moderate, lasting no more than 5 hours, with a cozy, powdery sillage. It’s perfect for cold weather, day or night, but not for summer. It’s a unique jewel for special occasions.

The bottle screams ‘Encre Noire’ and seems to warn us, but forget the darkness. It’s a dense, mature rose that lingers from the very first second to the last. It doesn’t write black notes on white paper; instead, it paints sweet, delicate stories of women who love roses right when they’re at their most velvety, just about to fall. It captures the essence of the rose in its final beautiful expression before returning to the earth. It’s a bleeding rose scent that moves you, soft yet deep, like a poem written with the heart.

  • Alejandra Vzla

This is one of the most pleasant fragrances I’ve used. It projects well and smells gorgeous. It has a sweet, powdery, floral, vanilla, and rose note—simply beautiful.

  • VainillaDulce

Encre Noir is, without a doubt, the most well-structured rose fragrance I’ve ever tried; elegant and sublime. The opening with bergamot and musk fades quickly to reveal that freshly cut garden rose, later framed by moss, cedar, and vetiver. Here, the rose is the absolute queen. It reminds me of a woman with great presence, wearing a simple Jackie O. or Grace Kelly-style dress—the perfect perfume for a bride. It’s formal, suitable for daytime, with moderate sillage and longevity. If you like roses, give it a try; you’ll love it. 9/10

  • Crisindian

I love its rose scent: soft, moderate, but it lingers. I find Les Perles more intense with better longevity, so I prefer those, but this one reminds me of when we were little girls and brought flowers to school… it brings back sweet memories. Lalique is magnificent, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a scent with a stronger sillage.

  • Courtesy of Casablanca77: ENCRE NOIR by Lalique Pour Elle is an unfiltered absolute rose. Totally different from its male version: where he had smoky violets, she has carnal roses. It’s not just any rose, but a complex one, stripped down to facets marked by citrus, herbs, musks, and woods. No pale, adolescent, or sugary roses here; this is deep, essential femininity. The citrus opens with freshness so the rose can explode in all its splendor, then hiding behind petals that release their power. Far from being funereal or gothic like the violet version, and without that Iso E-Super note, it’s an opulent, dramatic, theatrical rose, diva-like. The osmanthus doesn’t mask it but potentiates it with a floral touch between peach and apricot. It evolves keeping the rose as the absolute protagonist, with light citrus hints that disappear under the kephalis, adding a softly tobacco-like nuance. The high-quality white musk is barely noticeable but adds strength and distinction to the flower. It’s for a woman addicted to roses; its performance is extremely high, so spray with moderation because it can be intrusive and isn’t for daily use, but it shines at night. Ideal for someone who keeps a Balenciaga or a Dior New Look Auteuil from the 50s in their closet. With a Zara dress, it’s a different story, but everything is worth trying.

  • Short review because, although I’m dying to own it, I haven’t bought it yet. Honestly, I expected something else; in my head, it smelled different, probably because of the name ‘Encre Noire’ and the bottle, since the notes don’t include anything too ‘black’. The first impression was a disappointment… I expected something extravagant, even smelling of squid, but as for the scent, it stays within classic lines. But what classic lines, please! From start to finish, it smells of roses, with fresh, creamy, and sensual variations. What longevity, impressive! This perfume speaks of a masterful hand in its structure; with rose perfumes, you need to know your raw materials well and have a clear goal to achieve something like Encre Noire, which doesn’t fall into the same mold. It stays classic yet singular, expressing the rose in all its phases. It’s clean without being soapy, but has a ‘shadowy’ base that adds elegance and more versatility than a simple soap scent.

  • MarinaEtoile

A beautiful fragrance where the rose is the absolute protagonist. But it’s not an innocent or playful rose; it’s serious, with a distinguished, powdery touch that gives it a more earthy vibe. On my skin, it lasts about 7 hours with moderate to low projection. It’s not the most impressive rose composition in my collection, but I have no regrets about buying it.

  • It felt like a scent for older women; I bought it without testing it, expecting something lighter. It turns out to be intense, rich, and full of personality. Perfect for winter or evening outings. It’s complex, floral, fruity, and sweetly vanilla.
