Seriously… I’m going crazy. The English forum says it’s very floral, others say it smells animalic, others say it’s soft and powdery, and then there’s a legion claiming it’s super strong and smells like pee… WHAT? This curiosity made me buy it already, just to have something 80s. The variety of opinions on this creation is insane… HELP. Edit: Animale is for complex people with strong personalities and unusual sensuality; nothing typical. Finally got it; I was scared to try it because, according to votes here, it supposedly smelled like Montana. Fortunately, it DOES NOT, because I can’t stand Montana. It doesn’t smell bad, nor is it remotely similar, not in the dry-down on the bottle nor on my skin in any phase, which is the ultimate test. This perfume is multi-layered and very complex; it gives different sensations that mature every time you smell it at each stage. I love the opening and first few minutes; it smells like hormonal animal but feels synthetic (for me, that’s an improvement; maybe not in quality, but it’s not worth the painful extraction of that molecule when there’s a great synthetic imitation). Initially, it’s mega powerful, a real ‘here I am,’ with strong personality without being overwhelming, thanks to the powdery touch that gives it a light, floating vibe. Persistent in that powdery note (not ‘stale,’ please, stop using that word XD). It becomes floral in the next phase; nothing like cutesy Rococo sweet floral or mega-clean, but a dirty, animalic floral. In the dry-down, it’s a mossy, slightly green and dry chypre with a great persistent vintage base. Fortunately, it doesn’t resemble Aromatics Elixir, Youth Dew, or Knowing. Not all vintages are the same! This one doesn’t resemble anything; at best, it might remind you of them, but don’t compare them as similar. I think it has some flowers and woods reminiscent of Giorgio Beverly Hills, but it’s not even a cousin. It also has the dry powdery vibe of Soir de Lune, but it’s nothing alike. In short, it’s a quite unique perfume; it’s incredible that it’s still being sold. That bottle is a tribute worthy of the 80s, and the trail and sillage are simply memorable, which is very important in the era of fake gourmands.

Intense, musky, unique. You enjoy it more as the hours pass; it smells like roses and sandalwood to me. It reminds me of Soir d’Orient and Soir de Lune. Perhaps you need a certain age, time, and aromatic experience to truly appreciate it.

One of my mother’s signature perfumes for years. The curious thing is that it’s one of the few I never liked or wore (just like I didn’t like Paloma Picasso). It’s a bomb, and you can’t buy it blindly because it’s a whole world of notes.

This perfume is undoubtedly exquisite. I imagine it as a caged leopard; it’s for night, it emanates with sweat, so it’s perfect for after… It’s intoxicating and behaves impeccably in the cold, but in summer it can turn dirty and the fragrance stagnates. The combination of clove and honey is addictive and they are the protagonists, accompanied by green notes and a rose that pops up from time to time. In its dry-down, it feels very much like Paloma Picasso, however, Animale has a much more balanced animalic note. Its trail is very good, like a clove soap, lasting about 8 hours, sometimes 10, depending on the weather. It’s not a completely winter or summer perfume. For a 20-degree autumn, Animale reaches its peak performance. I don’t see it as absolutely feminine; at least its aroma didn’t surprise me since I sensed it in several masculine scents.

Animale is a benchmark in 80s perfumery. I tried it for the first time in 2022, and honestly, my first impression was terrible; I couldn’t even get close for months. But one day I smelled it on someone else, and at that moment, magic simply happened; I sprayed it again and felt a delicious powdery scent, with present notes of coriander, clove, rose, ylang-ylang, and moss; it’s an elegant talc on the skin, classic, powerful, and versatile. In that sense, I’ve concluded that perfumes can change once they oxygenate. As for performance, it’s unbeatable, with very notable projection and all-day fixation; on skin, nine or ten hours, and on clothes, it soaks in until you wash it. I received it as a gift, but I know it has a moderate price, so the quality/price ratio is excellent. Who will like it: lovers of powdery scents.

Unique and exquisite. I was a little girl when I smelled it on an older cousin and was captivated, wishing to be an adult just to smell like that. At 39, I remembered it and bought it blindly. I was scared of the potency, but it’s a complex aromatic bomb; nothing current compares to it. Every time I find a different nuance: last night I smelled the rose, the animalic side, the honey, and that earthy patchouli. The coriander is noticeable at the start, a note not everyone likes. I love 80s and 90s creations, but those in the fashion crowd might be scared off. It could work great on a man too. In conclusion, a timeless bomb that stands out, for better or worse. So far, I’ve only received compliments. I’m glad I got 200ml.

To start, talking about ANIMALE (an icon for me) is talking about a fragrance that ‘possessed’ me, or maybe she ‘possessed’ me. It’s like ‘the palm of my hand’; I’ve known and used it for over 30 years. Just to clarify, ANIMALE doesn’t go unnoticed: for better or worse, it depends on the ‘nose’ judging it. The packaging features bold colors with a striking box and cap. The frosted glass bottle timidly reveals an intense amber liquid. It’s a Chypre-Floral family. Regarding the notes, I won’t define the exact ‘opening phases’; to my nose, it’s a ‘symphony of fragrant notes’. I don’t focus on the order, but rather immerse myself in full enjoyment, feeling inside that symphony where every note stands out perfectly in time. Coriander, carnation, rose, wood, honey, and a certain animalic touch are perceived with force. In my opinion, it’s completely timeless and outside any ‘trendy’ frame. Its sillage is wide and projection is long-lasting. On skin, it lasts a long time with excellent fixation. On clothes, it could last a week or more. I wouldn’t recommend it under any circumstance to buy ‘blindly’. Subjectively, I’d define it as intoxicating, captivating, wild, intoxicating, bold, impactful, seductive, captivating, addictive, intimidating, and annihilating. If I had to describe it in one word, I’d make it redundant: UNIQUE. I wouldn’t wear it in the morning; in fact, it makes me a bit dizzy. I prefer to enjoy it from late afternoon onward as night falls, ideal in the cold due to its presence. Occasions? Not for overly formal events or if you intend to go unnoticed, since it stands out and invades. It’s ideal for an informal night out, events where you want to make your presence felt, and above all, to ‘capture’ the person you’re interested in in the most ‘deadly’ way. You get it… right? Nobody close to me uses it, which is an advantage so I can use it whenever I want. And I’ll add more… I could even use it without fear of someone less close wearing it in the same place and time. To summarize and being absolutely subjective: without a doubt, I define ANIMALE as a perfume made (almost exclusively) ‘to my measure’.

It’s very similar to Fendi by Fendi, but a much more affordable option, especially since Fendi is no longer available. I absolutely love it and have only been wearing it for two days. If you’re bold, decisive, and a woman who knows what she wants, this is your perfume.

To me, this isn’t a perfume; it’s an animal in absolute, wild heat, mating furiously. It’s in the same style and line as Paloma Picasso, almost identical. Beautiful and beastly, straddling the line between sexual and sensual. It has character, temperament, and a stubborn, obsessive olfactory willpower that hits hard. It’s exquisite and definitely not for the sniffly or picky-nosed. This is a perfume with its own life, nearly identical to Ungaro’s Diva. Not for the shy or personalities that don’t want to stand out, because it burrows deep into your nasal cavity, diaphragm, or skull, lingering there like a toxic but delicious vapor cloud. It really screams until it hits the walls across the street, like a skunk’s trail. These are real perfumes, unlike those watery, cheap knockoffs made these days that barely last a breath; I think a fart lasts longer, but this is a radioactive aromatic bomb—simply exquisite.

Bought it blindly at my usual perfumerie, trusting its promise of longevity and sillage—crucial since my skin absorbs almost everything. I absolutely loved the scent! I detected citrus, rose, and honey. I expected something drier, like a chypre, but it turned out sweet and gentle. Perfect for daytime wear because it’s not a bomb on my skin like others claim. It feels feminine and alluring, with moderate sillage and good staying power. It lasts a good while, plus it has the advantage of being affordable (ideal for repurchasing) and readily available (no need to hunt for it on the black market). In short, an excellent purchase.
