A real mockery for people with trypophobia. Already for that I won’t buy it and it’s not for me, I know how bad it is with a phobia and I don’t wish it even on my worst enemy. I have the right to comment because I have a sample and it smells like a mushroom, which is protuberant and not hollow as far as I know. Although since the aroma is of damp, decaying mushroom, it can be understood, but it’s not shared, and even less with the sensitivity that this topic touches. Years ago, some jokers used photos of lotus seeds for photomontages to create fear, this brand is doing the same with the packaging. The content smells like a rancid basement covered in spores: a total absurdity! 🕯️ 0.5/10.🍂
Micodelirium is a patchouli. It’s a dry, slightly rough patchouli that reminds me of paper. As with any patchouli, the opening is an overwhelming ethylenic fruit, here like a banana gummy. But when it evolves, it becomes a very elegant, very melancholic thing, so much so that it could be confused with talc (or a ream of paper). If there is geosmin or any other molecule evoking earth and decomposition, it’s added with extreme care, because I don’t perceive it. What’s here is a minimalist white texture. If it had to be a mushroom, it would be its fruiting body, but the mycelium, with its dirtiness and its metabolic activity, is very far away.
My first impressions of this perfume are frankly negative, I don’t know how anyone can perfume themselves with this. It’s certainly an olfactory experience, but to call it perfume? It smells strongly and terribly of mushroom/dampness (not edible mushrooms) that smell, to me really unpleasant, that objects have that have been rotting for a long time in the darkness of a damp cellar, to this is added a sweet fruity base. It reminded me a lot of Prism Head by SB – which I also abhor – but this one is sweeter.
Tested on a tester and on paper. I kept the paper in my backpack and the next day the whole backpack smelled of Micodelirium. More than a mushroom, the smell reminds me of mold growing on a lime about to rot. A bitter and dark citrus. An artistic and risky perfume whose occasion of use I cannot imagine. Not even for a mushroom trip. If you really are looking for a good perfume with a mushroom smell, I recommend Magic Mushrooms by Bohoboco.
I’m quite a fan of Gaultieri and he hasn’t disappointed me at all. A fairly synthetic opening with a strong nail polish smell. After a few moments, the mossy green and a sweet boletus smell start to come out, but the nail polish smell continues. It reminds me of the drying of Encelade but more humid and synthetic. It’s a strange smell but I like it.
How great to be the first to comment on such a perfume on .es. Today I received the Couture version, with the limited edition cap 16/100, and I can say that the emotions that The Nose gives are enjoyed immensely. This perfume opens immediately with a very particular petrichor: floral and somewhat camphoraceous. Then the idea of the mushroom appears; this is where the artist hits the nail on the head, because it feels like the ideal complement: earthy, humid, and slightly sweet/floral, leaving in the background a green trail of forest, moss, and patchouli. Very good work, an excellent olfactory experience. Niche 100%, but nothing that can’t be worn. EDIT: After using it a bit in various climates, it behaves better in the cold, where the patchouli facet is very marked after the humid/earthy opening. 10/10
