I knew what I was getting into, but I tried it anyway. It smells like OFG, a saffron bomb from the very first moment, and the quality is evident. The opening is intense and gives you a clear idea of the journey: lots of saffron and black pepper. It stays strong through the heart and dry down with notes of oud, tobacco, and a touch of sweetness that softens it a bit, though not as much as in Haltane. After trying and rejecting it, it hasn’t won me over. It smells good, lasts long, and feels elegant and mature, but it’s not for me. Too much punch all the way through. The typical perfume with tons of pros, but just doesn’t click with me.
