I’m really drawn to the incense and pepper notes. I’d love to smell like a man wearing this fragrance; it has something magical about it. I don’t see it as unisex though.
Impressed with this fragrance. Longevity and projection are very good, unique smell, totally unique. It’s like a sensation of earthy beetroot over a smoky base, but with extraordinary brightness and luminosity. Very happy with this purchase, I strongly recommend it but not blindly, as this brand usually does (niche in my opinion). A great bet by Puig, one of the scents that have most attracted my attention for its originality.
Sometimes we criticize the lack of originality in niche perfumery, but we have to admit that when something as unusual as this arrives, breaking every pattern, it often gets overlooked. I understand the polarized ratings; rare scents always cause division. For me, even though I was getting bored with the latest Comme des Garçons releases, this proposal absolutely won me over: an earthy incense with exquisite quality. Totally unisex, with that enigmatic aura that defines the house.
Impressed by this fragrance; longevity and sillage are excellent, with a truly unique scent. It feels like an earthy beet sensation over a smoky base, yet with extraordinary brightness and luminosity. Very happy with the purchase and highly recommend it, though not blindly, as is often the case with this niche brand in my opinion. A great gamble from Puig; one of the most original scents that has caught my attention.

Just when I thought there wouldn’t be any proposals far from the ordinary, Rouge from Comme des Garçons comes out. It’s a quite peculiar fragrance, which I like, since almost no house proposes originality that isn’t ambroxan and oud. The beetroot never yields and keeps its course; I notice a bit of mint with ginger. It lasts about 6-7 hours with moderate projection. The thing is, I don’t see myself wearing it; it doesn’t smell bad but over time it bothers me, as if I were at a fruit and vegetable market with oriental touches. It’s unisex with quality ingredients, bewildering. I don’t know if I’ll give it another chance. The beetroot is the vegetable I like the least. There must be another CdG that I’ll like, credit to the perfumer for being risky. I’m torn between liking it and not liking it: the opening doesn’t disgust me, it impacts, but when it dries it smells like a produce stand. Would I buy it? NO.
I love it. One of the best fragrances I’ve tried. It has floral notes but with character. The beetroot note is very good, very exotic.
A very successful fragrance. It has a vigorous opening: smoked, wet incense, not too dry. It’s incense in the style of Avignon or Zagorsk, but not so monumental; it’s cheerful for me. It smells like a yellowed breviary and pencils. After a few minutes, the beetroot comes in. We’re in pre-Christmas season, so there will be red borsch. In CdG Rouge, there’s boiled beetroot (with skin) very well mapped. It’s a bit earthy and very soft, perfectly mapped. CdG Rouge isn’t innovative because it could belong to the ‘incense’, ‘Blessed Boiled Beetroot’, or ‘Temple of Beetroot’ series. For incense lovers.
A little jewel of modern perfumery. It’s brazen, addictive, and strange in the best way possible. A glorious opening with that beetroot evoking velvet roses under wet earth, accompanied by a slightly mentholated ginger. The perfume dies sweetly with a beautiful incense, a signature of the house. I tested it blind and had to buy it despite the price. Love at first sight, I suppose. Average longevity. The trail and projection are low for its price, but I have no regrets. It’s very versatile, discreet, though ideal for personal enjoyment.
Rouge opens with a super cheerful aroma of ginger and pepper, but after 15 minutes it turns into an incense bomb on my skin. Although I notice the pepper, patchouli, mint, and that reddish-chromed background of the beetroot, incense is by far the predominant note; the others just add nuances. If you love incense and don’t mind what others say about how you smell, and you’re looking for something unisex, this is a good acquisition for autumn-winter night outings. It’s a peculiar incense, more galactic and futuristic. Otherwise, try with caution. The projection is a nuclear madness, but I don’t know how long it lasts because I got home half an hour later and my partner politely asked me to shower. Even rubbing my wrist with gel, the incense was still detectable. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 8/10, Versatile: 6/10, Original: 9/10.

I signed up just to review this because it never happens with any other perfume. It acts in bursts: every so often there are explosions of scent at a distance without any temperature changes or anything. Besides that, I’m sticking with the pepper and the incense base. The beetroot opening isn’t my thing, but it has something that makes it very sexy after drying down; my wife loves it, in fact she bought it for me after testing it at Perfumerías Julia. I’m still distinguishing the nuances and it lasts quite a while. I see it as good for going out for drinks at night, at close range and in dark places; it can be a powerful weapon. I recommend not overdoing it, 2-3 sprays are enough. As a flaw, the bottle can’t stand upright; you have to lay it down and it takes up space. It’s intense, masculine despite being unisex, and peculiar; if you want to surprise, you get it.
It’s a very dirty and original perfume, a nuclear bomb of incense. I thought I wouldn’t like it because of the notes, but the blend of incense and beetroot made me fall in love (I’m 33) because it gives a sweet touch without being cloyingly candy-like. I thought it was super original; I didn’t expect to like a beetroot bomb so much since I’m not a fruity person. The downside is that it’s not very versatile. I don’t mind wearing heavy winter perfumes at night in summer, but this one is too much. I only see myself wearing it in dark, decadent clubs, which I don’t do anymore. But if I could, I’d love to wear it alone, because everyone around me hated it for how strong it smells.
It’s a very dirty and original perfume, a nuclear incense bomb. I thought I wouldn’t like it based on the notes, but the blend of incense and beetroot delighted me (female, 33 years old) because it gives a very sweet touch without being cloyingly sugary like candy. I don’t know, it seemed super original; I didn’t expect to like such a beet bomb so much because I’m not into fruity scents. What’s the downside? It’s not very versatile. I don’t mind wearing casual daytime or summer-night perfumes that qualify as winter nocturnal ones, but this one is too much; I only see myself wearing it if I’m going to dark, decadent clubs, which I no longer do… But if I could afford it, I’d love to wear it when I’m alone, because everyone around me hated it for how strong it is xD
Hi! I found this by accident while looking for another Comme des Garçons scent. A friend smelled it on me at a party and loved it. When I went to El Corte Inglés, the stand girl told me Wonderwood was great but that she wore Rouge and encouraged me to try it. I fell in love instantly! I had to buy it; now it’s part of my collection. It smells totally different from anything else, original and full of personality, amazing. I enjoy it a lot, though I understand it’s not for everyone; it’s peculiar and penetrating. For me, it’s a 10.
Hi everyone! I stumbled upon this fragrance by accident while looking for another Comme des Garçons scent, Wonderous. I smelled it on a friend at a party and loved it. I found it at a El Corte Inglés stand, and the brand ambassador told me, ‘Wonderous is great, but the one I like and use the most is this one,’ showing me Rouge and adding, ‘try it.’ I fell in love with the scent instantly! Of course… I had to buy it, I couldn’t resist, and now it’s part of my collection. It seems like a totally different aroma from anything else I’ve ever smelled—original and full of personality, amazing. I enjoy it a lot, but I understand not everyone will like it; it’s peculiar and quite penetrating. For me, it’s a 10. Cheers!
Bought this for winter and it was a total hit. On my skin, it’s a potent trio: pepper, ginger, and a very intense incense. The beet, which is always present, adds a softly sour earthiness that keeps it from getting too dry. Rouge is fierce and persistent—no cheap candy scents or sugary drama; it’s austere and herbal. A spiced yet light fragrance, deep and curious in its evolution. Not for everyone, but for me, it’s the perfect unisex scent.
