In its opening, violet and lemon, with their acidic character, give way to a heart where lavender, cinnamon, geranium, and rose intertwine. The trail settles on a base of tonka bean and coumarin.

The opening is flawless: green, wild, and very natural lavender. However, after 15 minutes, the scent starts to give me a bit of a stomach ache; it seems the lavender turns creamy and hard to digest, until it evolves and the final blend with coumarin becomes pleasant. I would have preferred it to stay just like in the beginning. It sits close to the skin all day, and with several sprays, I think it lasts quite a while. The final impression is of a finer, niche version of Caron Pour Homme, but that’s all. The problem is that while Caron costs about 0.25 euros per milliliter, Tom Ford is 6 euros—that’s twenty-five times more expensive. It’s another proof of society’s direction. Some may justify that difference, I don’t.
