Dance by Shakira

I actually liked it; it was a gift and I must say it surprised me. People say it’s a generic scent, but I don’t see anything wrong with that; if you’re looking for something more exclusive or refined, go for designer or niche. Singer perfumes aim to be accessible to most wallets, so it’s good in terms of price-to-quality ratio. It’s feminine, sweet, and fruity, slightly powdery to my nose, easy to please anyone, a safe bet for its creator who intends to sell it massively. Perfect for daily use, spring/summer, and daytime. Longevity and sillage are always a personal criticism of Shakira’s fragrances, but it’s an EDT, so we can’t ask for more. The bottle represents what Shakira is herself, and I like it visually. I haven’t kept it in my collection anymore just because I’m looking for something with better longevity, but I emphasize that the scent is to my liking.

Poor longevity and projection; it would make a good gift if not for that and the horrible bottle, which looks like a poorly made clone of the JPG Classique. The scent isn’t complicated; when it dries down, it smells clean and pleasant, and I loved its powdery touch. In fact, I don’t remember when, but there’s an old perfume that smelled almost exactly the same.

For me, it was a total failure; exactly what I expected from Shakira: very generic, without originality, and the notes don’t convince me.

It’s floral and sweet with a citrus top note. Ideal for daily wear for teenagers (except in heat, because it’s very sweet). It’s cheap and many will like it, although it’s not special. On my skin, it lasts 5-6 hours with good projection for a celebrity EDT. I liked it more before; now at 26, it’s not my style anymore. I recommend it for young people.

This scent doesn’t suit me; it smells like marshmallow and I only feel it for winter and night.

I tried it because my sister has it, and it reminds me of a very low-budget So Scandal by JPG. For that reason, it’s completely unattractive to me.

I have three daughters, each with their own perfume, but I like to put out affordable colognes at the entrance for us all to share daily. I bought Dance, Dance Magnetic, and Dream because they smelled good in the store, were on sale, and the bottles looked nice—they seemed like a great summer option. What a letdown! They have pathetic longevity; the 1-liter S3 lasts longer, but these don’t last an hour with zero projection. I can’t explain the success. After having S and Shakira Eau Florale, which aren’t bad, finding these EDTs is disappointing. Honestly, don’t waste your money; there are much better perfumes at the same price.

I used it before becoming a perfume enthusiast because I ran out of anything else, and I liked this fragrance. I wore it daily because, as I said, it was the only thing I had and it served its purpose. Over time, I started to develop a dislike for the scent and wished it would end. I eventually finished the bottle and hated it. I think the problem was that I only used this fragrance and ended up getting saturated. It smells normal, fresh, and no single note stands out…

Fruity and citrusy at first, then slightly sweet with floral undertones. It doesn’t last more than three hours, but for the price, it’s good. No complaints.😊👍

The bergamot, grapefruit, and orange citrus notes mixed with caramel create an exquisite combination. Plus, it’s a fresh and sweet fragrance that doesn’t get cloying.

As a Toilette, it fits its category; in my case, it projects for an hour and a half to two hours and lasts about four hours before disappearing completely, though it can linger on clothes for most of the day. It’s an ideal Toilette for spring and summer, better suited for daytime than nighttime use—a very pretty, cheerful, youthful fragrance, but from my perspective, something to enjoy in daily moments. I love the scent even if it doesn’t last long, but as I said, we can’t expect much from a Toilette… for me, it’s a sweet, not cloying, scent. Regarding the floral aspect, I’d say it has a powdery touch, making me think it has some iris notes. The citrus comes out at the top with the fruity orange and pear bathed in the sweetness of vanilla and amber, which, to my taste, forms a syrup that soaks them. As for the floral part, peony predominates, also bathed in musk, so I see it as a sweet but clean perfume. In an image for me, it would be a bouquet of peonies bathed in musk, dusted with iris powder, and bordered by a large quantity of oranges and pears soaked in a vanilla and amber syrup. If I were to assign it to a character, it would be Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson in Grease, in the first part of the movie when she’s dressed in pink—innocent and not wanting to draw attention, just like the fragrance: not intrusive, but sweet and tender like her. Also, the name Dance seems to fit such a movie perfectly. I recommend it if you like sweet, slightly floral, and powdery fragrances that aren’t intrusive.

It smells like Givenchy Extravagance. It’s sweet, like fruit candies, but also creamy. I loved it, but I knew it was a clone of an expensive, discontinued fragrance. I think it’s an 80s Kenzo; I felt like Beau… except my friend had the bottle and I remember it being that one.

What a sweet and special aroma, ideal for daily wear with seductive notes. What a pity about the longevity; I thought it was the only one with poor fixation, but it’s not. It leaves much to be desired on the skin. What a beautiful bottle, it looks great in my collection.

I smell something almost identical to Prada Candy Kiss, just more intense and fruity. Prada is more powdery and subtle (and doesn’t last at all). Both have bitter orange blossom, vanilla, and musk. In the Shakira one, I detect a lot of bitter orange blossom and caramel.

I like the scent and it’s very economical for daily wear, although the trail doesn’t last.
