  • VALFERRA JAFRA FOR MEN: Just as Jafra has treasures like Absolute Leather and Absolute 56, it also has bad proposals like this. Poor and insipid aroma, too much name for such a weak scent and performance; it’s almost imperceptible and doesn’t define its notes. It feels dusty, recalling a very faint hint of Armani Code, but from afar… you could finish the bottle and no one would notice you at two meters. Forgettable and very common proposal, among the worst I’ve tried in years. Scent 3.0, projection 1.0, longevity 1.0. Failed, not recommended, don’t buy it, it’s an outrage for perfumery.

I found it interesting. As a fan of classic woody-cypriots (Polo 1978, Antaeus, Salvador For Him from the 90s), this Jafra perfume was a pleasant surprise, reminding me a lot of Antaeus. The ingredients aren’t comparable, but it costs one-fifth of Chanel and smells similar, so I recommend it. Jafra makes good things for the price, like Absolute Leather. However, this Valferra, with those classic tones (tobacco, woods, herbs, and that 80s nutmeg-red pepper accord typical of Cartier Santos), has considerable sweetness and the drydown leans sweet. I only smelled it once and suddenly wanted to buy it, haha, cheers.

  • I love and hate this fragrance. Nutmeg is the star: waxy, sharp, bitter, and woody, making my mouth water. It’s paired with sweet mandarin, with cedar and tobacco noticeable at the start, promising a lot. But after 15 minutes, it all falls apart. The notes that shine on their own crash spectacularly when mixed, and even reapplying doesn’t comfort me. What a pity.
