  Xanath is one of the best vanilla perfumes I’ve ever tried. It’s balsamic, resinous, and a bit dark, built on myrrh and benzoin, but with a cheerful side: a fresh citrus top and a delicious Ylang Ylang heart. In short, A PERFUME TO SMELL GOOD. Performance is like an extrait de parfum: extremely long-lasting, but with contained projection, only for close range. As with vanillas, it blends with your skin to create a beautiful sensation without seeming like you’re wearing perfume. It’s very versatile and a top option for sweet lovers. Scent: 10, Longevity: 9, Sillage: 6, Versatility: 9, Originality: 8, Value: 8, Overall: 10.

  If this were in a bottle by Casamorati or Kilian, it would be the niche bomb of the year. Not because it’s original, but because it’s a delight. It’s one of the best sweet vanilla myrrhs I’ve tried, maybe the best. It launches sparkling, like a banana cake (I think it’s the Ylang Ylang with orange and aldehydes). Then the resinous vanilla, very sweet and floral, starts to take over. It’s fine and elegant. It has an animalic base, like civet, but so soft it doesn’t turn anyone away. Simply exquisite. If you’re like me, hunting for Alién Essence Absolu and loving balsamic and vanilla scents, this will be your thing. I tested it months ago after trying hundreds of perfumes, and this simple, unpretentious one waited for me on the shelf as if it knew it was my turn. Today I finally bought it. If you get the chance, try it. It’s a jewel.

Then the resinous vanilla, very sweet and floral, gradually takes over. It’s refined and elegant. It has an animalic base, civet-like, but so soft it doesn’t turn anyone off. Simply exquisite. If you’re like me, hunting for Alién Essence Absolu and loving balsamic, vanilla scents, you’ll adore this. I tested it months ago, after sampling hundreds of perfumes, and this, simple and unpretentious, waited for me on the shelf as if it knew its turn was coming. Today, I finally bought it. If you get the chance, try it. It’s a gem.

  Alejandro Ponsá brings us Xanath, a perfume that smells of vanilla but is so much more. It starts with an explosion of Ylang Ylang, citrusy with aldehydes, giving that solar, airy yet warm feeling. It’s contagious and comforting. As it dries down, the balsamic vanilla takes over, exquisite and far from that dusty or cheap ice cream smell. Myrrh and benzoin add depth, refining the vanilla into a delicious blend that makes you want to bite your arm. Moderate projection but enormous longevity; it’s an intimate fragrance that doesn’t overwhelm, which is rare for a vanilla. It’s a pleasure to feel Ponsá’s natural touch, with almost all natural ingredients. A great perfume, greetings.
