White Musk by Jovan

Last year I was gifted White Musk for Men from Body Shop… And I loved the scent, although it didn’t last at all or project, I finished it and wanted to smell it again, here in Chile it’s not available, and searching I found Jovan White Musk… I looked into it and learned that the main ingredient in both is white musk as a base, so I bought this cologne that was very cheap and when it arrived I sprayed it and it indeed totally reminded me of the Body Shop one, not because they’re identical… But because of the magnificent white musk! Which is undoubtedly my favorite note so far, I still have a lot to explore… The Body Shop one is more sensual, nighttime, sexual, Jovan White Musk is sensual but cheerful for the day and sensual enough for the night (as I wear them as an adult)… But obviously both are also crowd-pleasers, a delicious unisex scent, even the Body Shop one, and I have my 5-year-old son wear this White Musk when he goes out with his mom or his grandma because I know they’re going places where people will greet my son and believe me that delicious white musk smell won’t be forgotten by the people who greet my son and if they smell again a perfume on someone where white musk predominates… They’ll remember him hahaha

I had owned it years ago but it’s very difficult to find these days, however by chance I bought it again so I’m going to give my impression: Clearly there is an intention to show a kind and acceptable option for those who somehow can’t stand or despise Jovan Musk as it’s known, a unique cologne with no offshoots that recalls scents of past glories from the late 70s and early 80s… I remember in mid-1989 I saw a commercial that was only shown at night where you could see bare torsos and apparently couples with some degree of intimacy, after using this lotion women would be subjected to a trance of irresistible passion. On the other hand White Musk to my taste represents the unique moment of rejoicing and cleanliness that it gives you after doing everything to dedicate yourself to enjoying your time at home or going out for a drive listening in the car at full volume to “glittering prize” by Simple Minds…

A clean, faint white musk smell, very nice, honest and at a laughable price, 6 eur!! I give it a 10.

I just tested it and bought it… if I had to describe this fragrance in one word I would say it is a “nourishing perfume”… it fully fulfills what it aims to be, a balanced white musk that lets you move through different moments of the day without being out of place thanks to its notes. I agree with Mr. bofifa on many points. It’s not a bold perfume nor with an articulated backbone of aromas but it has everything I need to use it on my days off, I recommend it.

They told me they share the star ingredient: white musk. I grabbed it because it was super cheap, and to my surprise, it smells exactly the same! Not because they’re clones, but thanks to that magnificent white musk, my favorite note so far. It’s faint… The Body Shop version is more sensual, nocturnal, and sexy; Jovan is sensual but cheerful for daytime and strong enough for night (that’s how I wear it, as an adult). But watch out: both are delicious unisex scents that everyone loves. Even my 5-year-old son wears it when he’s out with his mom or grandma, and let me tell you, people won’t forget that delicious white musk scent when they greet him. If they smell a perfume with that dominant musk again, they’ll remember him, haha.

Summary: fresh, clean, pleasant, and unisex. It lasts well on clothes but leaves a soft trail on the skin and smells great. For the price, it’s a steal. Just don’t expect the sweet, trendy scents of today; this fragrance is musk, 80s and 90s style, but far from outdated. You’ll smell different.

A very clean, absolutely white musk that smells like freshly laundered laundry. It’s the central component of this fragrance, evoking sunny days and blue skies. The top notes are slightly fruity with a certain sweet touch, but not invasive, reminding me a lot of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male aura. Beyond that sweet tone, White Musk recreates a crisp, carefree, almost crystal-clear scent. It’s ideal for summer days and heat, straight out of the shower, though I see it could also fit in cooler temperatures. I’m sure we’ll leave others wondering what makes us smell so good. The projection and strength aren’t monstrous, but they’re just right for what it is. On the other hand, the price is a steal. No reason not to try it if you like this type of cologne. Rating: 8.5/10.
