  1. First off: Mallo perfumes are for those with tough noses; otherwise, they might be a bit intimidating at first. Second, the quality of their ingredients is exceptional. We’re not used to smelling anything like this—perfumes where the quality and naturalness of the ingredients create something akin to an essential oil. They give off an unmistakable vibe of a natural product, something alive, which translates into power and impact due to the authenticity of the scent. Niche lovers, who are already accustomed to high-quality products, will still find this surprising. You might be used to a Promise or a Terroni, but then you smell something like Wam and immediately realize it’s on another level. Another thing you’ll notice is the oily layer it leaves on your skin, almost like an attar due to its concentration. Finally, with most Mallo perfumes, especially this one, more than two sprays can overwhelm you and those around you, so moderation is key when applying. Don’t even get me started on the nuclear longevity. Within this house, some scents are easier to wear than others; this is one of the more challenging ones, though I must say that as you use it and get used to it, you’ll value it more and more. On skin, with body heat, it softens compared to its dryness, at least that’s my impression. I’d define it as smoky/animalic. It’s a very smoky perfume (though not as intense as Hyde or City on Fire), where birch oil reigns supreme. Nard and castoreum give it those wild notes, while the floral notes and vanilla, if anything, soften it just a bit.
