Sometimes the first impression is a bit off, but with time it turns into a great friend; that’s exactly this niche. The opening is a bomb: varnish, absinthe, and spices. Maybe that solvent-like scent comes from the resins or moss, but for me, it’s awful. However, after ten minutes, the beast becomes elegant and perfect for fall and winter. Absinthe, cumin, and cardamom take the lead, while lavender, thyme, and rosemary emerge. I’m not sure what the ‘pipirigallo’ smells like. Over time, a sweetness appears to accompany the rest of the journey, with a gourmand touch reminiscent of Neela Vermeire’s Trayee. It’s an extrait, so don’t expect much projection, but the longevity is brutal; if it stains your clothes, it’ll last you weeks. It’s 50% herbal and 50% spicy, but it requires patience to enjoy it 100%.
