  • This perfume is a delight; I love it and keep thinking its creator is the same as others on my favorites list—could it be a coincidence, or is this my new trend?

Venezia Vintage is a magical fragrance with prodigious fruits, beautifully sweetened by a splendid interplay of amber and vanilla. Tonka and sandalwood give it that unmistakable sparkling touch. It’s a fruity, sweet, and very singular perfume—a juicy yet brilliant wonder; not heavy at all, but with powerful body. It’s so romantic it transports you to dream awake through the streets of Venice. A masterpiece by Biagiotti and Almairac that doesn’t try too hard, but its magic among the canals and gondolas makes you long for those different 90s versus these 2021s. It’s a small bottle that grows big: it seems shy, but once you spray it, you realize that 80s perfumery evolved with dignity into the 90s. It suits that tender lady perfectly, a Shakespearean love story with passions ranging from soft glances to the cruelest depths like death, all starting with romantic letters and soft looks. This perfume is just that: it opens tenderly, enchanting you, and as minutes pass, it unfolds to offer itself as an unleashed powerhouse, yet never loses its innocence—pure romance. A fantasy of fruits that doesn’t become narcotic, representing a lovely lady a bit bashful but very love-struck, with a burning heart and soul. Its trail and projection are spectacular; with just 2 sprays, you can spend hours navigating the canals with a lantern in hand and a red cape. Poor thing, so cute and blushing, and they discontinued her…

I have no idea how this gem ended up in my collection, but it’s here now. It’s a classic bombshell; smelling it reminded me of niche perfumes: lots of jasmine and fruits over a very prominent base of civet and vanilla. The opening is a bit animalic with the jasmine, but the dry-down is top-notch; the jasmine pairs with a divine vanilla treated by the gods themselves. It’s exquisite, elegant, and seductive. For sure, if a girl wore this, I’d melt into a puddle of embarrassment. Absolute masterpiece, delicious.
