Have you worn The Man Silver?

Tell us how it opens, how it settles on your skin, how long it lasts and when you wear it.

  1. Palmerabix

I received the fragrance a few days ago and I’m confused: on clothes, it’s addictive, very powdery and soapy. On skin, it changes—the opening is pleasant, but after a few hours it gets strong and upsets my stomach; by 4 or 5 hours, it smells bad. I can’t see any occasion to wear this beast; it’ll stay in the closet gathering dust and taking up space in my collection.

  2. I’ve been wearing this addictive scent for weeks. At first, it smells like the soapy dry-down of Kouros, with an animalic touch but a sticky sweetness—nothing sugary like the current version. It’s an eighties floral, very masculine and carefree. The sillage is tricky; sometimes people say it smells bad, but it comes with propellant gas, so you need to spray and let it settle. It helped me understand the real fame of the original Kouros, even though the current one is also quite good.

A very good version of the original Kouros, perhaps a bit more armored, at a marvelous price. What more could you ask for?

  4. Mono should get a commission. I bought the Silver and the Cobalt and couldn’t be happier; they smell like the originals but at a ridiculous price. Edit: 13 hours on skin, and I had to throw away practically everything I was wearing. Much better than the current original. I’ve ordered a replacement.

  5. Good perfume, smells quite nice, and the quality-to-price ratio is excellent. I expected better performance after Mono’s review, but still a good purchase.

  6. It’s literally Kouros in an earlier formulation—I don’t know which one, but several steps back: more honeyed, more animalic, slightly wilder and fresher. And MUCH MORE BEAST MODE. Both this and The Man Cobalt are very bold. It was thanks to Mono Perfumado that I knew there was a Kouros clone, even though I also have Mugler A-Men and One Million by Mylton, which aren’t as potent. It has a preference for Old School.
