  • Alright, here goes: No 10 by Mojo from Milton Lloyd, a niche brand. It’s definitely inspired by Jacques Bogart Oud Edition by One Man Show; there’s no other explanation. You can detect a tiny hint of that church-like smoky finish, similar to Loewe 7, but these are minor details. As for price, I’d obviously stick with Jacques Bogart.

  • Worn on skin in fresh weather, above 27 degrees it’s unbearable. The price is ridiculous and the performance is notable. The oud is muted, simulated with other notes, but passable. It smells way too sweet to me, with a rum-like alcoholic tone—less bitter than Tom Ford’s, less smoke and incense. Mixing it with Alyssa Ashley’s Oud Pour Lui makes it better, adding more incense. Trying to mimic that mysterious wood with blends shows its magic. I’ll use it sparingly because of that sweetness that doesn’t suit me; it probably works better in the cold. It’s a great fragrance for Christmas, almost niche quality that doesn’t disappoint, though it’s not essential for me.

I grabbed it blindly because of some YouTube reviews. If you’re looking for a good Oud Wood clone, this isn’t the right perfume. It smells clean, like detergent, and a bit sweet. They try to mimic the oud with some ingredient mix, but they don’t succeed. Better to go for the Arabic clone we all know.

I picked this up blind after a YouTube review, but if you’re looking for a good Oud Wood clone, this isn’t it. It smells like clean detergent with a sweet touch; the oud imitation is a mix that just doesn’t convince. Better to grab the Arabic clone everyone knows.

Buy blind without hesitation given the low price ($10-13). Obviously, it’s more synthetic than Oud Wood, but it does its job. Longevity is more than enough since you can reapply fearlessly, and the 50ml size is convenient to carry. As for the notes, it’s sweeter than Oud Wood and lacks that bitter, raw edge of the original. I wouldn’t recommend it above 25 degrees, but for my taste, it’s usable on cool summer nights.

Safe blind buy due to its low price (10-13€). Obviously, it’s much more synthetic than Oud Wood, but it fulfills its function. Longevity is more than sufficient since you can reapply without worry, and the 50ml format is comfortable to carry. Regarding the notes, it turns out sweeter than Oud Wood and lacks that bitter, raw touch of the original. Not recommended for temperatures above 25 degrees, though in my opinion it’s usable on cool summer nights.

  • I don’t know Oud Wood by Tom Ford, but I did own Dunhill Icon Absolu (the gold cylinder) and know Versace Oud Noire from a friend. Milton Lloyd plays in that league, but here N10 by Mojo wins on lower price and better longevity/sillage; it takes the lead by far. It has very good quality and also features evolution. We’re talking about a pressurized glass bottle (the spray is continuous as long as you hold it down), made in the UK, 83ml. All for about $10. A price joke. Does it smell synthetic? Not especially; most perfumes (and probably all the ones you own) contain a lot of aroma chemicals, but Versace Oud Noire doesn’t have natural oud, nor does Icon. Will Tom Ford Oud Wood have natural oud? I doubt it; I know the natural oud in Amouage Jubilation XXV, which is smooth, milky, and resinous. Here there’s no natural oud either, but the blend gives a fragrance that’s somewhat mineral, sweet, resinous, woody, with an animalic touch and slightly dirty, like a stable. It’s masculine and looks better in mild or cool weather; it’s versatile, and a few sprays are enough to be well-scented for the day without needing to reapply. Recommended to have a good, pretty, and cheap perfume that isn’t among the most massified ads right now; you’ll smell different. A UK gem.

  • I’ve never tried Tom Ford Oud Wood, but I have worn Dunhill Icon Absolu and Versace Oud Noire (thanks to a friend). In this league, N10 by Mojo wins hands down on price and longevity/projection—it leaves the others far behind. It’s a pressurized glass bottle with a continuous spray, made in the UK, 83ml, for around $10. What a bargain. Does it smell synthetic? Not really; most perfumes (and probably all the ones you own) are full of aroma chemicals, but Versace Oud Noire doesn’t have natural oud, nor does Icon, and I doubt Tom Ford Oud Wood does either. I know the natural oud from Amouage Jubilation XXV—it’s smooth, milky, and resinous. Here, there’s no natural oud, but the blend creates a mineral, sweet, resinous, woody scent with a hint of animalic, slightly stable-barn vibe. It’s masculine and looks great in mild or cool weather. It’s versatile; a few sprays and you’re well-dressed for the day, no need to reapply. Highly recommended if you want a good-looking, cheap fragrance that isn’t overhyped right now. You’ll smell different. A UK gem!
