Descripción
The Jewel of Ocean by Anfar London is an aromatic aquatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2022, this composition is signed by perfumer Ahmedullah Anfar. The top notes unfold with a fresh and vibrant opening of aldehydes, mint, bergamot, ginger, and lemon (sour lime). The heart reveals a harmony between violet leaves, pineapple, geranium, apple, and sage, adding complexity and fruity freshness. Finally, the base settles on incense, ambergris, vetiver, musk, and cedar, closing the structure with elegance and persistence.

I understand those who say it’s an inspiration (not a clone) of the Y EDT/EDP. It does resemble it but more so Y Le Parfum (the black bottle). The Jewel of Ocean is more floral: geranium and especially violet stand out from the start almost like there’s rose in there. The soapy touch apple and citrus are lower than in other clones. It’s a rich perfume that might clash at first because of the floral and unisex profile—it’s like an oriental version of Y. Should you buy blind? I thought yes but I wouldn’t recommend it entirely especially if you’re in Argentina and paying triple like I did. The presentation box bottle and atomizer are luxurious. It has great power and longevity (and they say Anfar perfumes improve with time). It’s impossible not to like it but don’t expect it to be an Odyssey Mega or a Yeah Man; it’s not even close.
They say it smells like YSL Y Parfum (I haven’t tried the original) but it’s a blue floral scent with mint apple and a soapy touch. The longevity and projection are brutal. I own it alongside Yeah by Maison Alhambra which is softer and sweeter whereas this is much more potent. It works for any occasion and everyone loves it. I’d recommend it for people over 25 because when I smell it I imagine someone well-dressed. This house has me hooked—all their perfumes are bombs in terms of longevity projection and quality with nothing synthetic. This one lasted all day with heavy projection.
